paulraymaekers got a reaction from iamoui in Sony A7S II is out!
it matters a lot in situations where there is only one of the basic colours: for example under water, where only blue is left, (green and red gone)
you only have 8 bit blue left, and this give clear banding
10 bit is much better in this case

paulraymaekers got a reaction from exomonkeyman in A7s Using an E-Mount (Loss of sharpness?)
I don't think this is general for Samyang/rokinon: I have always had the impression that the lens outresolves the sensor on the A7S. I use an 85mm T1.5, and when shooting stills with it on A7S, they are sharp up to pixel level
so for HD film it just works perfect?

paulraymaekers got a reaction from Jacob Nielsen in GH4 DR on external 10 bit 4.2.2?
if it were only for sharpness, all we would need is the GH4 having an EXT TELE CONV of x1.2 and internally recording 1080P
this would use the native pixels of the 3840*2160, and downscale it to FHD, like it does now on the HDMI output..
a 'reasonable' upgrade request...?

paulraymaekers got a reaction from Axel in remaining card space indicated in play back mode
hi,
my bmpcc just arrived this morning
loaded the latest soft 1.5.1
I notice I can check the remaining time on the card: if you go to playback mode, the time indicated moves forth and back when you move trough the clips:
so the time indication at the start of each clip is the total time of all previously recorded clips
so when scrolling to the last clip, the total recorded time on the card is indicated time plus the length of the last clip
seems to work for me
