the baby hypergonar should not be tampered with any attempt to tweak will possibly destroy the optics leave it alone is best.
the optics are sealed into the housing .
a few of these have been destroyed during attemps to take  apart.
the only way is to cut the body into 2 pieces you then run the risk of horrible vibration damage to the optics.
be thankful you have a rare lens or sell it on if you are a seeker of perfection.

It's not about doing 70's style kung fu zip-zooms, it's about following focus.  Cinema lenses have longer focus throw than stills photography lenses, typically.

If you don't have a single focus or focus through system you're cutting yourself off from being able to do all kinds of shots with moving talent.  It's like having to write a paper and being told you can't use adverbs or pronouns or any word with more than three syllables.  It's doable but it's far from ideal, especially when you have a choice.

Actors will be able to move only within the plane of focus.  Or not move.  Forget about dolly or tracking shots that also aren't also very restrictive.  Prepare to eat a lot of blown takes.  Less experienced actors tend to over-animate, because they're not acutely aware of how small moves can be read quite well on camera, or they don't hit their marks.  A good 1st AC can save what would otherwise be a lost take by being able to judge how far off the mark talent is and adjust focus accordingly.

It's not a matter of obsession, it's one of necessity for certain kinds of content.  I really could care less what someone did in their short film or music video to somehow "prove" that this wasn't necessary.   No follow focus isn't a "dogma" that I can get behind and would sooner just shoot spherical.  Dual focus and anamorphics that force you to use telephoto lenses work great for demos and test videos though.

I love my Möllers 8/19 so much that there is an even bigger desire for the 16/32  ;)

I won't argue about prices anymore. I set mine, and if someone disagrees, as you do, sorry for that, but unless it doesn't sell, I'm not putting it down yet.

About the question asked by QuickHitRecord, I'd go with option [A] every time. Knowledge is meant to be shared, specially when there is so little around the web and even less out in the world. hahahah.

If the prices go up, some people got lucky at the beggining of the hype, and some other will be happy with a good lens, even after paying a lot for it. A good lens is always a good lens, and the main way to determine it should be through shared knowledge.

Why does everyone LOVES and WANTS Iscoramas? Because there's plenty of posts, videos and people praising its quality. It's not about the brand, like modern advertising, I think it's about performance. No one owns an Isco just for the status of it. :P

As the originator of that particular post (and other posts about anamorphic discoveries), here is a question that I pose to my fellow forum members: if someone finds an interesting anamorphic and there hasn't been much written about it online, should he/she:

[A] Post the information so that other people may also enjoy the lens, at the risk driving up prices?
[B] Share it with a select group of people via PM or email?
[C] Keep the information to him/herself?

I am curious to hear your thoughts.
