Awesome shots! Love the look of that 25mm 1.2 lens. I'm going to try your DNG/Resolve workflow. Should be must faster than rendering the .ORF image sequence in After Effects.
Edit: What settings do export as in Resolve before going into Premiere?

Got the camera in the mail today, immediately had to test the 60fps raw burst mode. I used a SanDisk Extreme PRO 300MB/s card and was amazed how fast the bursts were being written to the card (over 48 frames of 5K raw in less than 8 seconds). Raw processing in After Effects takes forever, took about 2 hours to render ~34 seconds. No raw color adjustments, just rendered the image sequence and applied warp stabilizer to the shot of the power lines. Kept all the missing frame flashes as well as the frames it records after the 48 frames of 60p (pretty cool speed up effect it gives). I shot another 2000+ frames which I will render out and share here soon. Used a Speed Booster Ultra w/ Zeiss zf 50mm 1.4.
Also, I tried to connect my Atomos Shogun via HDMI and was able to get clean signal for 4k 30p and 1080 60p but it says connection error when I try Cinema 4K. I have the latest firmware so not sure what the problem is...?

Very interested to see how many seconds/frames the E-M1 ii can shoot in this mode. I still love the 60fps raw burst mode with my Nikon V2, been waiting for another small camera that could do it for more than 40 frames. I noticed the GH5 has a 8MP 60fps burst mode but can't find any details about it.

Andrew, you forced me to register here and think about selling 70D and buy used 5D2. I want buy 5D3 later, but I cant afford it now. Reason, why I'm thinking about selling my new 70D...
See my above post. 5D2 prices are very low, I'd definitely consider selling your 70D and getting a 5D2. Craigslist seems to have the best deals but Ebay is another option. Good conditioned 5D2's going for a little over $800:

question close to Thobias one: how does the Canon 7D compare running Magic Lantern?
I am still hooked in Canon EF Lenses and would love to invest my money in my upcoming films and lighting instead of a new camera...

Edit: All this 5D2/forgotten camera excitement got me looking on craigslist. I found a wedding photographer selling her used 5D2 body for $500. ~140k actuations and some scratches on the screen. Talked her down to $480, just met up and bought it. Maybe you should consider selling your 7D and getting a used 5D2 since prices are getting very low. The deal I just got is extremely lucky but I see another on craigslist for $700. Now I can finally do some 5D2 vs 5D3 raw comparison tests of my own. I can post the results if people are interested. -

The 5D Mark III added nothing of real note over the Mark II. The old camera is the very definition of a modern classic.
5D3 has continuous 720p 60fps raw (and 1080p 60fps bursts) Also the ability to do uncropped full frame (1920x1290, ~3:2 aspect). The 2k crop mode is useful as well.

Are you using the VAF-5D2b filter with your 5D II? So you still prefer 5D II raw over the 5D III?

Arri's 4:3 is 2880x2160.
What I meant was how much more it crops on GH4 vs Arri. Through google I found that Arri sensor size at 4:3 is 23.76 x 17.82 mm. GH4 sensor size is 17.3 x 13.0 mm at full res 4608 x 3456, but in 4k 4:3 mode at 3328 x 2496 it equates to about 12.5 x 9.4 mm sensor recording area. Thats almost a 2x crop compared to Arri. I try to keep in mind that a GH4 costs $1500 brand new whereas an Arri Alexa costs around that for a 1-2 day rental.

This new Anamorphic 24p 10bit mode is fantastic news. I'm curious how much more of a crop is there in this 4:3 mode vs Arri's 4:3 35mm sensor?

According to that thread there isn't much chance for a m43 to nikon1 adapter. I really hope someone does make one though as I'd love to use a speed booster on my V2.
Also hoping Nikon adds 24p to the J5/V4 and increases the buffer to allow for more than 40 frames in burst mode. Both probably won't happen though

I own a 39'' Seiki UHD TV, which I use as a monitor with my PC. When playing some 4k video files I notice quite a bit of flicker. Turning sharpness down to 0 on the tv helps but doesn't eliminate it. After reading your review I did some quick research and found a very similar monitor, the Asus PB287Q, has something called flicker free technology, which the Samsung doesn't have. Have you noticed flicker on 4k videos on the Samsung display?
Edit: read more about the Flicker free technology and I think it helps with a different flicker then I was describing. The strobing type flicker I'm experiencing probably has to do with the shutter speed I'm shooting the footage at.

Ahh, come on. I was hoping so much that SLR Magic is finally developing a 1.5x lens but noo. 2x. That will only make sense on 4K cameras. No Iscorama competitor this time. Sad.
Definitely great news for GH4 owners! The 2x adapter on a 5d iii w/ magic lantern could also be a nice combo since it has 4:3 and 3:2 sensor output (up to 1920x1288). Would love to see some tests

The A7s seems to be a very nice full frame stills and video camera. Luke Neumann said he spoke to a Sony rep and apparently there is a 4:3 4k video output via HDMI ( http://nofilmschool.com/2014/07/atomos-shogun-4k-recorder-now-available-pre-order-comes-awesome-free-gift/#comments )
Andrew, have you heard anything about this? Would be very exciting if true

I got to try out a Nikon V3. Did some tests with burst mode, the increase in megapixels gives a sharper image compared to V1 and V2, but I actually prefer the look of the older models

I thought Andrew tested this and came to the conclusion that the BMPCC booster on GH3/GH4 does not allow focus to infinity. After watching Aron's video, it appears his Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 and Nikon 50 f1.8D are working for him but he tests vignetting issues and doesn't mention any infinity focus problems. In the comments of the video, last_SHIFT is reporting no infinity focus issues with his Nikkor 24/2 and 85/2 AIS...

Super35mm crop factor to full frame is usually around 1.5x
With standard Micro4/3 Speed Booster, C4K mode becomes 1.63x crop (.71 x 2.3 )
BMCC Speed Booster makes it 1.47x crop (.64 x 2.3 )
In 1080p/stills mode, with the standard Micro4/3 booster - 1.42x crop
and BMCC booster - 1.28x
edit: Sorry, misunderstood your question with regard to what crop factor is to Super35mm standard. Andrew just answered it though

How does the 60fps raw burst mode compare to the E-M1 ii? Does the G9 buffer cap out at the same 48 frames?
