I don't think the plastic grip is worth the extra money. You can find a handle with 1/4 thread made out of metal for about $10USD.

thx for help how do you suggest to mount it?

I have found handles such as those ones did you meant ones like its?

    2) this one is an upgrade with hand grip. it costs about 12 euro more than the first one. my question is does it worth the money?

  3. Hi Hansel I'm not expert buy I can suggest you the roger Deakins forum, he is the DOP of the coen brothers. it's awesome it approach. he would probably suggest you to do not imitate tutorials/techniques/him, but to experiment by yourself and searching what you feel is right with the light following your taste. and make practice shooting every day.

but is maybe better you ask him directly here: https://www.google.it/search?q=roger+deakins+forum&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-ab&gfe_rd=cr&ei=SRoZWLKRMufw8AeKgoGgDA

Nope none, I can't compare it with any high end expensive boom poles as haven't used them, but I am very happy with my Miloboo boom pole. I use it all the time, used it again yesterday!

thx for reply may I ask you to do this test please? I would be really grateful!

I haven't done internal cabling with it yet.
My plan is instead to get a wireless XLR plug in once the Saramonic UwMic10 XLR plug in transmitter starts to ship.

But I haven't be often using it, is great, very lightweight!

Going to later this year buy the Came TV boom pole as well, so I've got an even longer ball, and to act as a 2nd back up pole to my main Miloboo pole.

how good are Miloboo and catv boompoles? does perform any creak noise from the joints when full extended by moving the boompole? thx

  6. I wish 28mm on apsc equivalent (about 40mm full frame equivalent).

Go pro can deliver something close to 28mm super 35mm? I will probably buy it if it can.

+1 for going the NEXTO route, especially if you're looking for a CF option.

The NEXTO DI ND 2901 is a great system that doesn't require a laptop + you can always back up to something like a WD My Passport Ultra as a 2nd backup.

It takes SSDs or HDDs (which you can swap out yourself, although it will void your warranty). I currently have mine with a 1TB SSD and it's been flawless (you'll need to buy the optional battery charger if you're going the SSD route tho).

I really need a much more cheap solution please. I have huge economic problems.

  9. hello I wish to buy a cheap rig it's my first one I saw those models I'm looking at the specs/images wich is it the most balanced in your opinion?

I will mount my canon 7D on top of it, with my canon 50mm f1.8. I use to shoot at max aperture or close so I will need to use my left hand to focus very often (important detail).

I'm a little bit oriented over option 3, but I'm scared because I like to get close to peolple when I shoot and I'm scared that having a rig could make them feel unconfortable. what do you think about it? how to handle this problem? thx

if you have some tips suggestion ovre other products or even balanced diy projects let me know please! thx a lot! :)

As you need to hide the lav and its transmitter, then having the largest transmitter pack in existence is going to be a significant downside to it.

which one do you suggest me to buy please? I need it for movies and doc.

I have already the zoom h6 and the rode ntg3 in my equipment.

    thx!

It is awfully awfully BULKY! I almost never use mine, preferring the slim size of my Sony UWP-D11 instead

what do you mean? does it seems fragile or it is? behind this problems how does it perform good? thanks

I've been on shoots with cheap wireless and lots of problems. Even the Sennheiser G3s can get the occasional interference.

My personal rule is "wireless only if you absolutely need wireless".

If you want a really high-end lav solution for mid-level bucks, get an OST lav (they have a tiny button lav you can hide in a tie knot, and two side-address omnis, one has a treble bump that's nice under clothes) and their XLR barrel converter that takes phantom power from your recorder and converts to mic power, so you can use your lavs direct-wired, powered, and all-balanced XLR from mic to recorder. It's especially handy if you use a hyper on a stand but also want a lav, you don't need a mic power solution while using phantom (or if a shoot is going from lav to stand to lav, no messing with mic power settings). $200 or so and the OST stuff sounds like mics three times the price.
