  1. Here is a free template: http://vfxbro.com/split-screen-template/ I haven't used it myself yet, but it could be useful to you...

    GH4 - Time Code

This normal! It continues where it left of, until you reset it again. Time Code wouldn't make sense otherwise, it is there to help you distinguish consecutive clips (and maybe synchronize them with other equipment). You wouldn't need the special function of time code for any new clip to start at "0", that is the case with any "normal" videocamera (without time code feature). You should turn time code off to get what you want, but I don't know if it's possible, I'd have to check the manual...

    GH4 - Time Code

It seems to me that time code is set to "current time". Check the settings Time Code -> Time Code Value -> Reset or Manual Input.
  4. Had the same problem and it was also solved by going to Project Preferences and switching to CUDA.
  5. Here some quick sample screenshots. The effects can be further refined though. I just used a simple S-curve adjustment here... The first one is the unedited image without LUT, the other with different LUTs.
  6. I currently use the Natural profile with -5, -5, 0, -5.
  7. Thanks! That was a good idea. In case someone is interested, I bought and used the LUTs with my GH3 footage and the results are quite good, I like them!
  8. Hi, I shoot with a Panasonic GH3 and was wondering if it makes sense to use LUTs (I'm thinking specifically at Miller's LUTs @ www.deluts.com) to grade the footage. Will this work or do I need S-LOG or Cinelike footage to see a significant effect? I already use FilmConvert which delivers quite good results but these LUTs seem very interesting. I'm not a professional but I would like to try different styles in my films. I shoot in Natural mode with some adjustments (as recommended in EOSDH GH3 Guide). Thanks!
  9. Oh, that's great, many thanks! (I searched for Redstan, but only on eBay...)
  10. Hi, I just bought my first anamorphic lens adapter (a Sankor 16D) and I'm looking forward to using it! When I get a suitable lens clamp, that is. After an unsuccessful internet / eBay search I wanted to ask if vid-atlantic.com is the only place I can buy such clamps. I live in Europe (Germany) and they are located in the USA.... Is there really no other source for clamps? I have read EOSHD Anamorphic Guide (very informative, by the way), but the other 2 clamp "sources" cited there do not seem to exist anymore... Any suggestions? Thanks!
  11. Hi! Everybody is talking about this unique "full frame look" that cannot be reproduced with smaller sensors (e.g. A7S vs. GH4). Can someone explain this to me? Or (even better) give me an example? Is it the shallower depth of field or is there more than that? Thanks!
  12. Thanks to all! I will definitely take a look at the Dells! (As a MacBook Pro user, I was also considering the Apple Thunderbolt Display, but I am worried about the glossy monitor...)
  13. Hi!   I am an amateur (but passionate!) filmmaker and would like to buy a display/monitor for video editing. Colour accuracy is of course important. I don't earn my money with video editing, so I don't want a high-end professional, x000 € expensive monitor, but something in the range of 600-900€ would be possible.   Which 27" display would you recommend? Or are two 24" displays better (ergonomically)? Thanks!
  14. Oh, thanks, great! I'll be one of the first to buy it! :-)
  15. Hi!   I'm thinking about buying the "EOSHD Panasonic GH2 Shooter's Guide" but I have a GH3 and not a GH2. Is this going to be a significant problem for me if I buy the guide or is the advice included also applicable to the GH3? I suppose the two cameras are quite similar, but I am quite new in the world of DSLR filmmaking and I do not wish to be confused...   Thanks, anax276
  16. Well, if he hated Canon he wouldn't have called his blog "EOShd", would he? :-) Please tell me, which Canon DSLR has focus peaking, zebras and 160 Mbps?
  17. I have 2 points to make, correct me if I'm wrong: 1. Although it may be a technological achievement for the Nikon V1 to shoot 4K RAW in 60 fps (for 1 second!), why exactly do you need 4K right now? Most equipment won't play back 4K. When 4K becomes more widely available (and it will) then the companies will no doubt introduce corresponding cameras, as they did with HD and 3D. But right now, I understand why companies do not see the market and the necessity for 4K, especially in the consumer or prosumer sector. 2. Some people seem to believe that the companies' main goal should be to make us happy. Well, no, their main goal is to make profit. Otherwise, they cease to exist and nobody (not even the consumers) would profit if Sony, Panasonic, Olympus, Nikon or Canon etc. go bankrupt, right? Companies have strategies and marketing plans. Their plan (I suppose) is not to withhold better and cheaper technology from us because they are mean but because they want to increase their profit. If they gave us 4K RAW 60 fps, moire-/aliasing-/banding-free shooting DSLRs now, for $300 (or even $1000), who would want to buy their next generation cameras? Who would want to buy their videocameras? An evolution must be there to keep people interested and upgrading, even if this evolution seems to be too slow for some people. However, the companies have researched, developed and invested in their products, so they should be able to market and sell them as they (and not we) find appropriate. Consumers can decide whether they find this right by buying or not buying the products. Filmmakers nowadays have great possibilities, much more than they had some years ago. So, maybe we should stop worrying too much about these things, take the equipment we have now and go shoot a great video! :-)
  18. Speaking of the GH3, I am very much looking forward to your review, is there going to be one? Thanks!
