  1. I never did hear from him no, I just have not had time to hunt him down again, I would consider this too but my isco has the mod and moves very far in and out now, I should measure it.

I was asking about the duclose one because if he is sending it in I would like to order one along side of him and save the trouble of sending it anywhere and just get a second one made up.

Maybe if 3 or more of us want it we could all get a bit of a discount too :)

  2. none of it is really 4K, 2K upres mostly and HD. Elysium was 4K and then upres to 8K for Imax. Only a handful of studios here in the city can even handle 4K. We have renders for TV that tke 8hrs a frame to render in HD. SO take a shot that is 30F to 300 frames long...and usually if its 300 frames long its some epic explosion with tons of pieces.....put 4K and STUPID STEREO into the mix and then 48 or 60FPS. its getting ridiculous. I prefer 2K 2.39:1 with some nice film grain to it for texture with a great story any day.

  3. All the taking lenses seem to have this problem, I have a nikon and M42 mount taking lenses and both of them had to be sent in to super16inc to have them serviced and now they open smoothly. The m42 mount squeaked and was really stiff to get to 2.8. Im just super picky about these things so I ha it done. if you dont mind I would also say to just get a better and faster taking lens for it.

  4. Thanks for the info!

I contacted them and I they state that with the kinemag they can get 16 seconds for 100fps at 720P

Im using the kingston 256G V200+ SSD and I get these rates at these settings

Ok so I did te tests, I'm using a 256G Kingston V200+ drive.

    S35
    720p @100fps - 6secs
    720p @ 96fps - 7secs
    720p @ 60fps - 40+ secs probably would stop

    S35 sport
    2048x1080 @ 23.98 - 18secs
    1920x1080 @ 23.98 - 28secs

    S16
    2048x1080 @ 48fps - 7secs
    1920x1080 @ 50fps - 6secs
    1920x1080 @ 48fps - 8secs

  5. Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I could get some insight, feedback, reviews, attempts etc at finding or modding a follow focus for older anamorphic lenses where the front element moves in and out like the Iscorama and Lomo roundfront lenses.

Ive been leaning towards a lanparte follow focus and trying to join 2 of the smaller gears so hopefully the larger gear on the lens will just travel from one to the other. suggested by Mr Gale :)

Anyone else have any experience on this. Is it even an issue....People have to have a solution for the Lomos at least. The Iscorama is tapered which puts friction FF's out of the question.

    Thanks everyone

    Rob B

  6. I use a synology ds1512+

    https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/overview/DS1512+

Its about $700 plus you want to load it with 2TB drives, its a 5Bay raid with Dual gigabit, USB3 and ESATA. I liked this because I had a really bad experience using a drobo. So you can start out with what you need anyways on this and keep expanding disks. it has dual disk redundancy, you can also back up to external drives via the esata or usb. My favorite part is that it can expand out to 15 disks via the 512 expansion.

The interface is really great too and it is a very solid performer.

  7. I think you double tap one of the buttons for focus push in.. like the iris button or ok button I cant remember. It does have awful battery life which kept me worrying all the time so I bought and still have 3 extra batteries. The new speed boosters are very interesting though Rich! cant belive you got one already

  8. I bought mine earlier this year for 3200 with diopters, I agree the price is reaching 4500-5000, you may get beyond that for a truly single coated iscorama 36 or a rehoused isco, at least with a focus mod...but not for this. I really think you are asking at the top end. Also it looks like demand is not as high right now for them.

Im not getting rid of mine ever but would expect a bit because Ive had it serviced with a close focus mod, really smooth focus and have both m42 and Nikon mounts for it which have been serviced to fix tight aperture. Original box, Tokina +0.4 diopters, +1,+2 and +4 hoya diopters.

I just have never seen one go for 7k...never

  9. I love this camera, it has such a good image and 100FPS is great too. I wanted to ask if anyone has any SSD recommendations. IM using a 256G Kingston V200+ that I bought for the BMCC. It works well with most setting but will only record short bursts at 96FPS and 100FPS. Still great I just cant spend the money they want on a kinemagright now and was looking for alternate SSD's

    Thanks

    Rob
