What annoys me the most is how some youtbers in those reviews are already saying how this camera is the best mirrorless option for serious filmmaking. Cinema camera my ass ! The S1H is still the king of professional video centric mirrorless ! It has everything that this Sony FX3 doesn't have as a proper cinema camera : - 4K DCI (even 6K) - Anamorphic modes - Shutter angle - Synchro Scan - Possibility to import Luts in camera - waveform, etc. How those "reviewers" could forget how much the S1H is more suited to professional video shootings than this FX3 !

So this is the CINEMA camera we've all waited for ! Shutter angle, 4K DCI, timecode, anamorphic modes, synchro scan, who cares about those shitty features when we have 18 tally lights around the body and that incredible grey color reminiscent of the Sony cinema line ! Oh and it says Cinema Line on the body itself, this is a testimony that this camera can actually be used to shoot real cinematic movies ! Waiting for the Netflix approval now ! Oh dear marketing people are well paid I hope. This camera is total BS.

Exactly. I don't understand. Also this camera is planned to be sold 4700 euros, so priced higher than the A7SIII here in France. It needs to have some other things or it will be set much too high price wise IMHO.

I've had a Rode Wireless Go that I sold cause I needed 2 emitters for 2 people interview. So i bought the G1 feom Synco and I was not that satisfied regarding the sound quality. As I mentioned there was some micro cuts that ruined the interviews and the audio quality was not that good compared to Rode. But on the other hand the newer synco models (Wmic TS) are of really good audio quality from the interviews I shot so far. I'd say on par with the Rode or even better.

I personally bought the Synco G1 A2 and had micro cuts here and there throughout my recordings. I reached out to Synco and it seems some units are defective. I sent them back (30 days buyers return warranty on Amazon) and as their newer top model was upgraded I bought this one and now everything's working fine, no cut, no issue at all. I know that but the screen implementation of the Panasonic S1h is allowing you every angle you want so i don't understand why every other video centric camera doesn't have it !

I thought that the FX3 had it but unfortunately it seems that it doesn't feature this ! Such a good thing and one that I really miss from my S1H !

All that? Personally the move to Sony from Panasonic didn't cost me anything because I rationalized my immediate needs : I sold two bodies (S5 and S1H) and lenses (24-70 S Pro, 20-60, Sigma 45mm) and bought only one for my immediate need (Sony A7sIII) and several lenses (Tamron 28-75, Sony 35mm 1.8 and 85mm 1.8) and I still have money left (I may buy the Tamron 17-28). As a second body I might buy later a Sony a7IV when it comes out mainly for photography and video backup. But that will be dependant of the jobs I'll have in the meantime. So far so good I'm more and more happier I have switched. I'm a manual focus guy at heart but the AF on the Sony A7sIII just makes my life so easier when I'm on one man band / small crew jobs !!

Yes the Sony A7sIII does allow to punch in while recording.

Ok I don't really see the value of this camera if the specs are genuinely confirmed as of now : it seems to be basically a Sony a7SIII in a different body. So no ND, same 3:2 screen on a video dedicated camera, etc. Despite the fan to prevent overheating and the EVF missing, it seems to be the same. What's the reason for buying this model over the A7sIII? For now I don't know. My initial excitement is going down after each rumor update.

Yes to me it is less effective at stabilizing but as ther is no warp and jello effects it is more natural and with some used to it, I'm sure it can be very useful. I was thinking I would miss the Panasonic IBIS quite much than that actually. After my first tests I'm a lot more confident. It's just different, more natural.

I personnally use it for both stills and video. I still gave some photo paid jobs, and 90% of the time it will end up on the internet and on social media. So yeah perfectly fine for me. If I need more megapixels I'd rent an A7rIV for exemple but for now I'm fine with 12mp. Only thing to keep in mind is getting the framing right in camera, cause cropping is not an option. And for family stuff, vacations, it is good enough, even for printing. When you watch all those gigantics Iphone ads in train stations, airports or city centers which are shot with its 12mp sensor (which is far inferior to the A7SIII sensor) I mean, no problem at all. Actually i'm just waiting until the Sony A7IV comes out this summer, and then I will buy it as my second video body and my primary stills camera.

I think so too. but the price is really at the advantage of the Sony with a bigger sensor, even if it needs the dedicated XLR adapter to be able to compete with the C70 in the sound department. But the only unknown remains the presence of a built in ND or even better E-ND. If it has this feature, it's way more interesting that the Canon C70 in my opinion.

Exactly. That's why I switched back from Panasonic to Sony because they suits my needs better (AF, mainly) despite the little quirks they have compared to my now sold S1H and S5. After a few days with the A7SIII I can confidently say that I won't regret at all. And I can not regret when I see what Sony is delivering right now. They have the tech ready, they have the lenses (huge amount of choice at all budget levels), they have the financial power, and at last they finally push things forward. Glad I've switched. This FX3 should complement my A7SIII very well if there is enough pro video features (mainly talking about synchro scan and shutter angle, 4K DCI, waveform, false color, etc.)

No mechanical IBIS would maybe make possible the integration of a built-in VND. That would be awesome.

Yup right! When I saw this review, my first reaction was : "i'm so glad I came back to Sony" 😅 Seriously i'm in the process of getting the right lenses for my a7sIII right now, and to see this rumor is kind of exciting to say the least ! An FX6 in a mirrorless body with all the bells and whistles of a dedicated cinema camera. Yummy!

I undesrtand now why the Sony a7sIII doesn't feature 4K DCI, shutter angle, Synchro Scan, and all the bells and whistles of real cine cameras. I just bought a Sony a7sIII two days ago. I feel like this could interest me even more if it's kind of the Sony version of the c70... I'm genuinely excited to know more about this camera.

Ok so I don't listen to a lot of rumors but when it comes to Noshikita, they're quite reliable. Did you guys see the next cinema line camera that Sony should announce this month likely?

For photography maybe not huge difference but for continuous video autofocus, there is a big difference.

Yes I'm using mostly the Panasonic 24-70 f2.8 so yeah I have Panasonic native lenses exclusively. I really noticed the gain in reliability in AF-C since the last few years, but as much as I don't really want to change I would see myself more efficient with a reliable AF. I'm not an AF advocate at all, cause I own a cinema lens kit and tend to use them quite much but I do know that in my workflow a good AF will help me get some shots more quickly and confidently. Yes I have had numerous Fuji bodies (X100s, XT-2, XPro2, XT-3 and X100F) and I really like this brand like you. They are the only brand with Panasonic that I can feel connected to in some way. That was a big issue for me first. But then I looked at my work lately and I really don't have a lot of photography gigs that requires large files or prints. My images ends up 90% of the time on Instagram and other social medias, and even for family, vacation, etc. the 12 MP are not a deal breaker for me. I do feel that it's enough in most situations. So yeah for jobs that will need more MP I would rent and wait til' the A7IV comes out. But for now it's okay the 12MP (for my specific use).
