  1. The Mark II might be a dinosaur, but its still a decent performer video- and stillswise. If the A7 would have that amazing IS of the OMD, I wouldnt think about it for one second. Its really a tough decision. The A7 would be 400EUR (!) cheaper in Tokyo but when I was there in december they had no international models yet.

Mhhh... anyways... if that anamorphic displaying at the Mark II works and I do have a peaking that would sound like an ideal run and gun setup. Though I hate the fact that you cant tilt the screen.

ahhh... thx sebastien for the pics. Looking good!

  2. I am so Intrigued by the Sony A7 as my camera for stills but the price (1300EUR) compared to a used Mark II for 900 EUR gives me a hard time to decide. I love the RAW files of the A7 but the video-mode, as Andrew recently posted, is a major let down.

And, Mark II would be RAW with the possibility of a correct live-view of an anamorphic setup.
And I might be afraid the Sony is cause of its size just to small for a Helios and Isco for example...

But I really like that compact setup Sebastian. Its really nice. How difficult is it for you to judge regarding focus?

  3. folks,

As I got my pre-36 Isco just two months ago, I decided to sell some of my other lenses.

    For sale:

    Panasonic LA7200

    Perfect condiction

    original bag and caps included

    Price: 900EUR, location: Austria

(sry, Pics are taking with my iphone)

    3x brand new Keiko + 0.5 diopters

    price: 90usd, location: Austria

(bought them in a second hand camera store in Tokyo, but they are brand new)

This is a high quality Japanese made, AR coated, 0.5 diopter close-up lens. 0.5 diopter gives a maximum focal length of 2 metres (just over 6 feet) with the camera lens set at infinity. The minimum focal length depends on your lens, but it can be calculated.

These lenses are excellent performers at a fraction of the cost of the Tokina achromats.

    finally a Kowa Prominar 16-A

not in 100% good condition, minor microscopic scratches on the front lens, but to be honest I couldnt see influences on the footage at all. Got this one also in Tokyo.

    item location: Austria

cause of its condition, please make an offer.

  4. wow. I am impressed. Actually I am on my way to get me a A7 cause here in Tokyo it's around 900EUR. (body only).

How did you like to shoot with that cam? How could you judge the sharpness on that stretched image? It would be a dram come true if one day you could set the correct aspect ratio on a consumer cam.

  5. there was a guy selling one on German ebay classifieds (Ebay Kleinanzeigen) bout 3 months ago. He was asking for 1500EUR and the lens based in Czech Republic. I told him I am from Vienna and I am going to pick it up and that was when he sent me some sort of never heard before trust fund. I checked their website and it was up an running for 10 days... so obviously scam. My answer to him was accordingly. ;)

But I was really wondered that scammers already picked up the Isco as interesting source fro frauds.

    What a f**ked up world...

  6. I am shooting with my new Iscorama 36 (non MC) together with a C100 in Tokyo now and all I can say: WOW! It's just mind blowing.

I have used so far my good old Helios 44 (non MC) and my new Zeiss Flektgon 35mm 2.8 (declicked) and thats just... hands down... on of the best lenses I have used for anamorphic shooting yet.

    So that tiff is 300mb???

and: do you recomment the Sonnar? I am looking for a longer lens as well.

  7. Thanks guys.
Just two years ago all my gear (17.000€) got stolen. Insurance didnt pay. Among the equipment my whole ana-collection. (Isco 36, Kowa, Mini Isco, Agfa....)... so I see this as sort of redemption.

    @Au8ust:
Best ask Tony... btw. what happened to re-housing isco project? On Ice?

    Koji

  8. thats good news.

got it for a very good price and it looks like it's brand new.

Just got me some 49mm rings to adapt to my Helios 55 or Flektogon 35mm. Cant't wait to test this beauty.

I used to have an Iscorama 36, which said near the front filter "Iscorama 36" this one doesnt say anything, so I was wondering.

    thx guys.

  9. Folks,

Just recently became (again) a proud Iscorama owner and would like to ask for some wisdom and insights here.

Here are some pics of my new friend. What can you say bout it? MC? Non MC? The rear element is about 30mm big... mhhh... small.

    thanks for any advice.
