canon c500 have 10 bit raw with baked-in ISO and white balance ...
-
Thread cleaned. I agree no more off topic stuff about Bloom. It's wrong to criticise religion.
no it's not ...
but is useless ...
:)

there is a big difference between CCD and CMOS sensors in image look ...
i always like CCD more ( more dense organic colors)....
sony f35 (panavision genesis ) image looks more like film than alexa ...
but of course ALEXA beats F35 in dynamic range ...
-
bad resizing ....
thats 1280p image ....
-
in RED world 16 stops probably means little more than 14 ...
not bad ...
but better than 65mm .. hm ...
let me see a colors first ...
nevertheless more competition is better for us , costomers....
-
dont mix dslr with BMCC ...
same price its only thing that they have in common ...
u need different mind set to shot in RAW ...
and postproduction is different ...
what u need is intermediate codec ....
use cineform RAW (bitate and cpu need similar to PRORES)...

KODAK and FUJI dominates .....
not ALEXA , RED or whatever...
thats a fact....

-
i know about that ...
7450$ for f35 ...
crazy ....
its a pity that all big players give up on CCD tech ....
-
reason why all camera look similar is because they all have cmos sensor ...
in my opinion ccd sensors have more pleasing (organic ) color/texture rendition ....
this guy buy sony f35 from ebay for 12000$ and image is capture by hyperdeck shuttle ...

price will definitely go lower for fast CF cards because theres lot of high MP cameras (d800 , 5d3 )...
-
cameraboy,
Pricing of the cards have been varying. In early September, a 2 pack of 32 GB were on sale for $238. Then they went up to $243. Now they are priced at $379.50 for the 2 pack!

Pricing has increased. That will most likely change as Christmas nears or shortly in the New Year.
thats only 16 min of footage for that kind of money u can buy 512Gb ssd ...
my point is that u cant use cheap CF for 1DC....
-
some movies are so bad that they look better on iPhone ...
-
forget about cheap CF cards for 1DC...
it runs @500 mbps (4GB per minute)...
Shane Hurlbut recomended this card ...

looks ike that people from kineraw work on their s16 camera with same KODAK sensor as IKONOSKOP ...
-
KODAK really put same kind of magic in that sensor ...
they manage to make sensor with KODAK vision stock aesthetic ... -
this camera is peace of art for itself ....
http://www.texascamerarentals.com/aaton-penelope-delta-camera/
going opposite from big players trend and use CCD ...
perfect... -
that sensor design tech is used in their cleavid camcoder sensor few years ago ...
and is not that new fuji use similar pixel patern for their ccd EXR ...
an yes its a first real 4k cam with great DR...

but color of the sony f65 is least thing i like in that camera ....
sony f35 has a lot better organic colors ... -
@markm
basically u want to know quality of dye used in color filter of BMC....
i dont think that there is a way to know ...
maybe i someone would send his camera to lab so they can took sensor and test it ....
but if BMC use CIS 2051 (and i m sure that it is ) then its top quality ...
because that sensor is used in medical imaging and diagnostics and color quality for that applications is essential ... -
@markm
nobody even talked about camera color filter array before sony start to use it as a marketing tool...
i dont remember that anybody ask that question when arri alexa , red epic or any other camera announced...
why? because its not important ...when u make raw camera u use wide gamut dye (not that for rec 709) ...
and more bits camera have, color gamut is wider ...
so u basically ask do i get four wheels when i buy a car ... :)
so dont ask question if dont know what are your asking ..
its ignorant...
ps:and when sony state that they going to use f65 camera color filter on f55 what they really say is that they decide to cripple f5 with wrong one .... -
where that fascination with color filter array come from ?
its probably classic Bayer pattern as in arri alexa , red epic or 99% other cmos cameras ...
just look at the image and if u like colors great if u dont buy another camera ....- kirk, Ernesto Mantaras and andy lee

there is no way c500 to record raw in camera ...
it has old dvIII cpu as their Legria/Vixia prosumer line ...
basically its a sensor box with raw video tap ....
very lazy designed camera..
