  1. Yes in custom functions, I believe there is a tutorial video from Canon on how to change it,,,,,
  2. actually made it to part 7 ,Convert2ProRes.workflow isn't in the finder, even after I tried a reboot...
  3. It would make a great remote body (no wifi, but a radio trigger perhaps) or a third body on location. would be great on a Merlin, Maybe dedicate it to a slider...
  4. I see a lot of potential in this little beastie......
  5. I'm hoping too, Panasonic has done such a good job in listening to the users.
  6. .....probably not. But I think it will be the best bang for money and perfect for what I do- video journalism. And I'm hoping it will show other manufactures what can be done when one listens to what the users want.....
  7. I use B&W ND filters on the 12mm Olympus with no issues. Personally I love the lens....
  8. I've tried various sharpening settings and didn't see a difference and I registered at personal view. trying to figure out that site, it's layout is confusing
  9. @ Mirrorkisser, Thank you, I've only been asking sharpening tips for several months. it' start....
  10. I still would like some sharpening settings for the Mark III in FCP 7 so I can see the difference. Any recommendations?
  11. Did you notice if the audio meter levels were present full time, or buried, that might be the deal breaker for me. The GH3 has really caught my attention. I think the GH3 and the BCC will be the cameras for 2012 & 2013. ]
  12. I know there is no head phone jack but are the audio levels visible or are they buried like the 5D Mark II. THANKS in advance.....
  13. This looks fine to me,looks like the GH3 should handle anything I would shoot. Plus the firmware isn't finalized, we live in exciting times
  14. For what I do, I don't see the BMCC being a practical tool for ENG coverage. especially with the crop factor . considering I use the 24mm or equivalent for a lot of my clips. Maybe when it comes in a micro four thirds mount and chip size...... AND I would still like some sharpening settings for the MarkIII in FCP7 please.......
  15. OOHHHHH, me likey, ....... Can that be hooked up to the Olympus OM_D per chance?
  16. Despite the discussion the on going on the merits of the Mark III, can anyone give me some sharpen settings for FCP7. I want to make some test and burn a Blue Ray and really see how the sharpening improves the image to see if it is worth the extra effort. For my job , the Mark III is great out of the box since my audience is the iPad. Of course the Mark III may be obsolete if Andrew's early descriptions GH3 features are right on. Only if they would let you choose the codec. I'd pay several hundred more for ProRes....
  17. Didn't mean to start the 5D Mark III controversy all over again. I got the Mark III by default (Mark II was stolen) and for my purposes, video for The Dallas Morning News' web site, it serves me find, considering my audience is the iPad. I would like to play around with sharpening for possible commercial jobs and or weddings What are good places to start for using FCP7. I also decided I'm going to use the Mark III for news type assignments and my GH2 for features when I have my time to work on an assignment. But then again, the features of the GH3 that Andrew too wrote about really have me intrigue ....... So everything might change in the fall.....
  18. Thanks guys, my audience is the iPad through either the NDN or Brightcove video servers, depending on how you open the video on the web. Will keep the sharpening in post in mine for any freelance work. What sharpening settings do you recommend using for FCP7.
  19. I use manually focus with all my micro43 lenses. I'm sure the GH2 works well in auto focus, just old school I guess
  20. I use the iPhone 4 as my personal camera. The Mark III is by default, my Mark II was stolen as was replace by the Mark III, I had no interest in getting the Mark III because of all the softness issues, I was even paying attention to cure for the softness. But I don't see it in my clips so I'm not going to worry about it. My two favorite lenses for the GH2 are the 12mm Olympus and 25mm Summicron. both are among the sharpest lenses I ever used. The 75mm Olympus is next......
  21. I have the GH2, also love it. I've been using the Mark III for more news events type of assignments. The GH2 I'm using more for feature type stories. I love using simple fast primes on the GH2
  22. my clips look good to me, what am I looking for. I've tried various unsharp mask and sharpen settings in FCP7. Still don't see much of a difference Did I get the only Mark III that's decent.....
  23. The infamous Cowboy Studio shoulder rig works well with the GH2. Just don't use the bolts that come with unit. Also Express35 offers various rig components for the Cowboy.
