FS 5 in mid 2017 is it dead?

I've been researching the FS5 as an option for a small, cinema style camera. I'm looking for any references to fixes for the codec limitations that were commented on so aggressively in early 2016. With a new Panasonic cinema camera coming in the Fall and the Canon line in version two modes, will Sony upgrade the FS5, or replace it if it can not help the current codec limits? The current summer sale discount seems to foretell that it may be looking to steel buyers while it finishes a new release.
