My worst fear with any camera, is having it look like it was done with a cell phone haha

Just dont use Lexar in this camera. I have seen 2 reviewers have failures with it, maybe they need a firmware adjustment or something for them

My favorite part of the eos r drama was when the northrups were drunk & said that the camera will be their new vlogging camera because its perfect. Then he uses a crappy lexar sd card and loses some of his footage and now its the worst camera in the world. Yet, their current vlog camera only has 1 slot and much worse 1080p, dynamic range etc. Btw, I really like how they over expose the crap out of their footage on everything and make any camera look terrible. I once trusted a review from them years ago on the 2x teleconverter, took their word on it and it no joke took away half the resolution or more while using it. I just sent it back and bought a bigger lens. Jokers. 

The guy who did that london night video, said that the battery lasted around 45min recording in 4k 60p 10 bit. Not as bad as what dp review made it out to be, but still probably not what they could have done with a new design. 

0-10 what are the chances the a7siii has 10 bit raw out

That sucks, I do that on my CF in the Canon and it works to not split them up. 

No exFAT? Can you format a card externally as exFAT & use it in the camera? That would suck to have 60 files

So.. that basically has all the video recording options everyone wanted in their mirrorless FF lol.

All the videos we have seen have been on the z7, I hope the z6 can auto focus without issues in video since it is supposed to be slower. 

I noticed in those last 2 clips the ibis while panning would stick and jump a bit, like on my 85mm 1.4 IS canon lens sometimes. Do you think there will be settings for the ibis where you can get it to stop freaking out during panning like there is on expensive IS lenses? 

Did anyone else see a canon executive mentioned the possibility of a cinema version of the eos r/rf system? He talked about them figuring out if making an 8k version was worth it or not. 

Recent Rumors on it: 

Unconfirmed: the camera will use a new Panasonic sensor unsure of MP but believed to be around 30MP

Confirmed: full frame readout in 4k no pixel binning, no crop in 4k 24/25

Confirmed: internal 4k 10bit 4:2:2 recording up to 60p (all i frames in 24/25 believed to be around 200mbs)

Unconfirmed: possible 4k raw recording (may be external output only, there had been some early difficulty with hdmi and raw output)

Unconfirmed: two card slots not sure if they are 2 x sdxc or 1x cfast 2.0 and 1x sdxc (probably depends on whether raw recording is internal or external)

Unconfirmed: early prototype had no ibis due to sensor size and other internal elements, may change on release.

Unconfirmed: new ff lenses will have is, unsure if all new lenses will have it but if there is no ibis then it would make sense.

Confirmed: audio adaptor similar to gh5 with more robust connection and additional controls

Partially Confirmed: there will be some type of variable nd, not sure if this is an add on adaptor or built in.

Confirmed: adaptors will be available for other lens mounts canon ef etc… unsure if they will work with the nd adaptor.

Confirmed: weather sealed body, unsure if it is fully weather sealed but speculation is it is shower /splash dust proof.

Ports: headphone, mic, usbc, hdmi, flash to double as timecode sync as with Gh5s

Pricing unavailable: estimated to be in the region of 3k

Panasonic are confident this new camera will be a big seller and will seriously challenge Sony and Canon as the top selling ff mirrorless camera.

EOS R is 8-bit 4:2:0 internal / 10-bit 4:2:2 external.

How much of a difference is there between 8 bit 4:2:0 & 8 bit 4:2:2? I havent been able to find much info on it, just 4:2:2 10 bit. What I did find, said there was barely any difference, so I am curious. 

So much estrogen simon young; someone else mentioned banding, I linked a video where everyone in the comments was asking why there was so much. Grow up

Same. Give me 1080p HDR Laser projector over 8K any day. I had to replace my 1080p plasma when it died and replaced it with a 4k led. So much worse for motion and color. And I never view 4K content on it.

I kept my plasma forever too. I got an lg 65 4k oled and it is extremely good. I just really want the same quality of an image at 150", that's dreaming right now haha. The micro led technology looks good for the future, modular screens.

Obviously an exaggeration to someone being sensitive haha. Seriously though, didnt dpreview say they went through 6-7 shooting that review in a day/afternoon? Every review I saw said that and no ibis was their only complaint. Maybe they can release a better one in the future, dont know about compatibility though.

I tried that, it didnt work for me. Maybe if I used a very similar scene it would. I have had decent success matching drone footage with it before! I didnt know if anyone has gotten perfect natural looking browns for shadows before & what their curves etc looked like.

Haha; someone mentioned they saw banding, I linked a video I noticed a bunch as well. Then someone that obviously wants to buy it tells me not to. Isn't the point of a camera forum, to figure out things that probably are not obvious from the manufacturers info? I think people should say things they find, unless they are getting paid to sugarcoat. 

I think it will be a great camera for some people. I mentioned the banding & youtube in the same sentence. It obviously goes together. Tons of people have noticed this with the xt3 footage, I saw it in eos r on YT as well. There usually is something aggravating it that can be resolved. I have to transcode on the 1dx ii before using in premiere or I get banding that looks the same as what we are discussing here. People get so worked up about cameras, even ones they havent paid for lol.

I never see YT compression make banding this bad. I have seen a bunch of x-t3 videos indoor and outdoors, with the banding even worse in some vids.

Sadly, I have seen crazy banding in many xt3 videos. That killed it for me; now to see if Panasonic or Sony can release what we want...

Canon was reaching out to people in may about using this camera. "I was in late may 2018 contacted by Canon EMEA (Europe) and ask to test the new mirrorless fullframe camera system - The EOS R." 

Some have been saying they just hurry and threw it together and it wasn't ready (continuous eye af/continuous silent shooting in upcoming firmware). I don't really buy that tbh.
