  1. Nope, this part (shown in white). But I have the 90mm (3.54in), that may be why they look different. I am not an expert yet in anamorphics
  2. Okay, let's be honest, this thing is huge, weighs a ton (3 kg), is not sharp and focuses at a minimum of around 6 meters. But if I hadn't bought that a year ago "for fun", I would have never followed anamorphic stuff. (The thing is crazy cheap, I'd say just the glass & metal to build this beast are worth more :p) I think it is a good test for anyone willing to use anamorphics, you need A LOT of motivation to shoot with it ! As I just got my Isco Ultra-Star (blue star) after playing with the LOMO, I thought I might put a small video as it may be the last time I use the lomo for anything else than a paperweight. (Oh, and the middle brass part of the isco is a pain to unscrew, did not manage to yet :s) A picture of the setup, just for laughs
  3. Oh My ! My X-T1 is only 1 year old, and now the X-T2 adds all the video features I need ! Pease fuji, add F-log to the X-T1 via firmware update ? please ? please ? PLEASE !
  4. I think you should get a color chart (I have the passeport video). Then you can generate your LUTs (if resolve has your chart recognized) and it is painless. I always use a color chart since I'm colorblind and cannot rely on my eyes for color calibration / camera matching, it gets quite easy and fast to do you color correction.
  5. I think, It cannot be the same sensor as it is doesn't use a Bayer pattern.
  6. Just saw this on ebay, the auction is ending very soon. (Not my listing, just thought i'd share with you as the price seems reasonable) Sun Anamorphot 16 2x http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sun-Anamorphic-Anamorphot-Adapter-16-2x-/322134100865? Cannot buy it now as I don't have the cash :s I just bought an ISCO ULTRA STAR (with the projection lenses) for 130€. I don't know what I would have picked if I found the Sun 16 2x first ...
  7. While I think your point is valid (event if not my personal thoughts), I don't think a Canon EF mount is a plus. m4/3 is a much better option as there are more adaptable lenses available out there. (Anything with a shorter flange distance than EF/M42 cannot be adapted). And you can still use EF & PL glass if you want. Of course m4/3 will not give you access to full frame ... but I think it's overrated anyway :D S35 is just fine
  8. We also need clean HDMI out, which the X-T1 doesn't have :s
  9. Yeah, it plays, but I'm pretty sure the rendering is glitched. See the screenshot, playing the same file in After Effects & MPV I may not be a complete implementation in FFmpeg (which is used by VLC, MPC-HC & MPV)
  10. I exported some red sample footage to DNxHR (HQX 2k 25fps preset in media encoder) and I can confirm that neither VLC nor MPC-HC can play it. I think the problem if more about the player than the export, as we can reimport the files in Pr/Ae without any problem (tested in AE, works OK)
  11. You can contact a rental place and offer your gear as available for lend. They'll be happy to add them to their catalog and contact you if someone asks to rent your gear. It's pretty easy plus you don't have to deal with insurances as the rental company will use theirs.
  12. The minolta rokkor 50/1.4 (latest versions) also has a 49mm front filter thread
  13. Oooo you're right. Thank you for the english correction
  14. I have a heavy 3d render atm on my PC, so I cannot try and transcode something to dnxhr, but i'll do it asap
  15. I was talking about renting the gear you bought in order to make a little profit out of your gear when you don't use it
  16. Did you try opening it with MPC-HC ? I'll try to play DNxHR files this evening.
  17. I know it won't help but would you give this picture in raw/jpg full res if possible ? I find it quite nice :D I think a firmware update is your best bet
  18. Why don't you rent your gear ? You get money and can still use it very often
  19. I don't know how you camera "guessed" it though. I think it was preset @50mm as a factory setting.
  20. To get the full frame equivalent, you have to multiply the focal distance of the lens (50mm in your case) and multiply it by the focal reducer coefficient (0.71x in your case I believe) to get the final Full frame equivalent (which makes ~35mm in your case).
  21. I don't get it, they announced the new firmware and a new mount at NAB... Plus, the link is down.
  22. What about we create one ? I have 3 or 4 c-mount lenses and a u4/3 camera. Let's go ?
  23. Seeing the file sizes of DNxHD 1080p recordings. I just don't want to get 4k. I mean, what for ? For the content I make, Best case scenario, it'll be seen on a big screen in festivals (1080p projector with the movie/documentary in 1080p blu-ray like quality). Worst case scenario, it'll be on youtube/vimeo and most people will watch it on their phones in 480p or laptop in 720 or 1080p... As soon as you don't crop of do crazy VFX, I really don't see the point of 4K.
