  1. I am amazed with the results i get with the a6500 and EOSHD
  2. It's just a LUT at maybe 20% to make it slightly warmer over the EOSHD (Cine4) settings, its a screen grab from a short clip im almost done with, when its finished ill post here
  3. No it is not, but is pretty damn close to this, normal color profile won't allow me to get this end result with this little work put into it and thats why i like it. And its not a picture its a video frame grab
  4. I don't if anyone mentioned this before but EOSHD is awesome
  5. EOSHD is perfect for what its suposed to be, a color profile that requires little to no grading/correcting, you either like the look or not but it works perfectly! Below is a test i did, first two clips are in SLOG2 graded with film convert, other two are EOSHD with no grading
  6. I use a D800 for stills and got the Sigma art 35mm and NIkon 85mm and a 14mm, i don't care about AF just wanted to keep the full-frame look
  7. Sorry if this already been awnsered, but wich mount comes with the NXL? It says its compatible with a whole lot of mounts (and i need Nikon) but when trying to purchase it don't get to say with mount i need and its not written anywhere with wich mounts it comes with
  8. @Emanuel i got Fnac Worten but none of them have the a6500 in stock, and they don't rent gear so i couldn't actually use it before i buy it. Didn't know EstudioPT will have a look into it, thanks!
  9. Im from Madeira, wich is an Island of the coast of Portugal, so i got no chance to rent something and try it out beforehand, i have come accross a NX1 and the 16-50S lens for 1300€ (used) is this considered a good deal?
  10. I have a D800 have done some videos with it and feel its a bit too soft so i got myself a G7 to try out 4K video and liked it and colours but wanted something a bit more serious and with slow-motion. I have read about the Sony's a6300 and a6500 cameras and know about the heating issue, altho i never shoot long videos like for more than 5min or more in a row and i think the a6500 can handle even more without over-heating. I have seen what the NX1 can do, and its impressive in terms of detail and colours, both the a6500 and NX1 have awesome 4k video and the 120p option (which i really like), i now the NX1 colours are better straight out of the camera but the a6500 has S-log which with work i think can look even better than the NX1 and since its LOG it gives more leverage(?). I also think the IBIS on the Sony could be a reallly nice thing since i always shoot handheld or with a monopod, and that is a big plus over the NX1. I could get the a6500 and a lens turbo for about 1550€ and use my NIkon lenses (14mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4, 85mm f1.8, etc.) and have a nice kit which would allow me to do a bit of everything, have an almost full-frame look, 120p, LOG and IBIS. Or the NX1 for around 900€ used, get an adaptor have a nice kit also but with no IBIS or LOG. My true question is, since i want to get serious with video and start doing music videos and other related stuff, should i pay more for the IBIS and LOG? Or will i be better off with the NX1 or is the difference in price just not worth it. PS - Where i live there isn't any chance of renting gear since there aren't any camera stores, so i can't test any of them out
  11. I was on the same boat as you, i had been shooting stills for some time (D800) and wanted to get into video just for the fun of it so i got a G7 and the Zhongyi Lens Turbo Adapter, this way i can still use my lenses and have 4k and the 60p HD option. I am actually selling that kit at the moment (the G7 with kit lens + adapter). PM me if you are interested. This was shot with that kit (G7 with lens adapter with 35mm f1.4 sigma art and Samyang 14mm f2.8) last saturday and edited on the same day, it was meant to be a test.
  12. Went with a couple of friends to an amusement park and took the G7 did some shots and tried out Andrew's LUT and it works beautifully, it really makes the little camera something else! PS- Sorry about the flickering
  13. thank you! the footage looks nice and is nice to play around with when nicely lit
  14. Shot on the D800 with flaat 11
  15. Will do, i thought the Flaat profiles was the way to go
  16. I do some video with a D800 and 35mm Sigma Art Lens, and the detail surprises me always, i also have a 85mm f2 AI-S but it doesn't cut it, i honestly never tried the Flat profile that comes with the camera i always use Flaat11, you guys prefer the Flat profile to the Flaat11 ? if so, why is that?
  17. I never used the Flat profile but love the Flaat 11 profile, im not a video guy my thing is photography but im more and more into video, just finished this little makeup tutorial for my girlfriend, let me know what you guys think about it!
  18. I looked a bit and there isnt many topics here on grading footage from the D800, i have used Neutral, Flat10 and Flat11 and Cinestyle, and Flat11 is the easyest one to grade. I shot this with the D800 on Flat11 with the 64mbps hack, and i liked how it turned out, cinestyle doesnt turn out that good, its harder to bring back the tones. Does anyone have a favorite LUT+Profile combo thats works out fine with the D800?
