  1. hahaha I agree! Good catch! Really sucks! He says. So gopro does not?? He says he speaks as filmmaker.... Really? As filmmaker or news shooter?? Funny, people have no idea what it means to be filmmaker. Not even what filmic means. Strange days.
  2. I don't find Phantom 4 any better than Mavic. I find Mavic better than the phantom 4, gopro, etc with their oversharpened settings. I agree with Pavel.
  3. This can give an interesting unique filmic feel....
  4. Oh my goodness, you will not build a narrative only with it, will you?
  5. Not bad. Nevertheless, I like Mavic better than gopro.
  6. Everything must be balanced. For example, people are crazy with slow motion. Put this effect everywhere. It is the same crap.
  7. I am 100% with you. Nevertheless, I like Mavic pictures better.
  8. You mean the use of aerial shots? It is normal no? New tools, new languages, I think.
  9. Very true. DOF matters. These videos are greatly appreciated. Another video from same source...why I find Mavic better:
  10. They are different but I'd fly with Mavic any day. Sharp edges look very video to me. Mavic seems more pleasant to the eyes.
  11. Excess of sharpness is masked by nature landscapes.
  12. That makes no sense. There's D-Log. At the end, there's no ugly color these days anymore. Nature landscape, no problem. Building edges are terrible though.
  13. I am considering a mobile solution among these ones: http://us.vaio.com/vaio-z-canvas https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-au/devices/surface-pro-4#techspec-block https://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-us/devices/surface-book#techspec-block I've read scaring reports on the reliability of Microsoft offer, so is Vaio route better? Vaio Z Canvas has a quad-core Intel Core i7-4770HQ Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics 5200. Surface Pro 4, dual-core Intel Core i7-6650U with Intel’s premium graphics, the Intel Iris 540. Surface book, dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U chip with Intel’s HD Graphics 520 integrated GPU inside + NVIDIA GeForce GPU with 1GB GDDR5 memory. All of them, up to 16GB. Much difference among them?
  14. So, does it work straight out of the box? That's really nice!
  15. Is Came TV a safe bet on settings?
  16. I meant wear other than mechanical shutter. Does electronic shutter have zero wear? No, isn't it? Does A7RII have the same wear with slowest shutter speed in video mode?
  17. That one I understood. I am just wondering if the wear on the camera with the electronic shutter using the G7 is the same going with the A7RII in video mode / slowest shutter speed...
  18. Thank you for help. I know mechanical shutter has a short cycle of life for multiple frames per second for sure. About the electronic shutter, no more wear than to use it comparing with A7RII going on 1/5th shutter once in this latter case (A7RII) is video mode??
  19. But, even able to do one for sure, this "one" can end to devastate the shutter, no? My point is: can G7 offer the same as A7RII? A7RII offers slow shutter in video 25fps 4K. Can I mimic the same with G7 or similar camera without devastating the shutter?
  20. @ebrahim, okay, I have now a G7 ready in hands. Now, can you explain to me how can I mimic this effect here? https://vimeo.com/135120108
  21. Played a bit for first time today. Nothing scientific. To the eye, you don't notice any difference. My friend will grade it. We'll see his findings.
  22. 8 bit can be enough. Compression is the problem. External recorder better for video.
  23. I would also think of a recorder for video. Tests with A7 M2 8 bit 422 output (ProRes) show better results.
  24. Output A7R M2 is 8 bit 422. Better bit rate, less compression help. That test posted by Emanuel is correct. We will test with a GH4 of a friend of us. I can inform you later.
  25. It is clear internal 4:2:0 is much compressed. 4:2:2, higher bitrate. You miss the point of Emanuel. He didn't say 4:2:0 is the reason for banding. He said you don't need 10 bit to avoid banding. Higher bitrate 4:2:2 is okay. I've done tests with the Shogun. Same results of that test.
