  1. When using legacy lenses on the new NX 500 you can press the OK button and you will get manual focus assist with included magnification and focus peaking. If the mode dial is set to AUTO and you are using an adapted legacy lens, you will get a sign telling you to check lens and no picture is possible, you need to select P (program), Aperture, Shutter speed and Manual. Won't work on AUTO OR SCENE
  2. Yes, version 13 edits H265 natively. It works fast, but in default tends to crush blacks (a look I mind less than others).
  3. If you want to see what the NX1 produces in daylight with the tiny (but good) 16-50mm PZ lens, edited natively in H265 with no grading and standard settings, here is an example:
  4. I think in 4K (the only mode I shoot in), moire and aliasing are minimal. This is indeed a plus for the camera.
  5. I agree. Both were at default settings, but I suspect the sharpening in the NX500 is less.
  6. A comparison of the 4K video from the NX500 and NX1. Shot side by side to get the same approximate pov, both lenses set so the ISO was 800 and at the same f-stop. Both used the same model lens (NX 16-50mm PZ). The NX1 was closer in to mimic the crop factor of the NX500. Shutter priority mode at 1/60th for both. Standard color. AWB. SAF.
  7. Seriously, you can tell video quality from this? So far, all the video clips from this NX500 posted that I have found (and I have looked), including those from reviewers, are based on somebody waving around the camera shooting literally aimlessly, often in poorly-lit settings. Le's wait for a video from someone who actually knows how to shoot video, or at least knows to hold the camera steady.
  8. Sorry, there is a 15 minute limit for 4K, UHD (same as LX100).
