Maybe ask the Egyptian dentist that responded to my OP ;-)

Yeah, this was from years ago, but it's the Polish movie "Ida."

Coincidental that this should surface again as I'm the DP on a S16 film shoot later this month and we're going to do static shots pretty much the whole way.

Ah, I remember that movie. Only saw it once, but man, had it great compositions.

This is it. I remember when it came out there was talk about the unusual composition used, like all the headroom, etc.

Thanks. It was a great movie.

I love static shots and that movie made me realize that it wasn't old fashioned by any means.

Well, 3-axis is pretty self explanatory for the straight forward designs we've seen. Don't know if this is harder to balance, tougher on the motors and battery life... if losing a couple of degrees from the straight axis makes it less stable? Maybe it helps with the walk-bounce? But it's sure nice to have a clear view of the screen for camera without a vari-angle screen or stabilizer with configurable set-up that can swing the arm the other way around for the left side to be clear. Interesting for sure. Hopefully they'll have some kind of trade-in/upgrade programm for H2 users.

Battery life is 26 hours. Even if it's only half in real life, I think it's plenty for most users.

I just got my Ryzen system built yesterday and went into a Premiere project, switched off my proxy files expecting playback of 4k files to be butter smooth but....No....its not!!

I am thinking i must have something set up incorrectly cause the system should sufficient - Ryzen 7 1700, 32GB RAM, Radeon RX 480 Nitro 8GB.

    Any ideas???

    Cheers

A couple of years ago, I was cutting 4K H.264 files from a GH4 without any problems. Buttery smooth playback and editing.

    1080P timeline. Intel i7 3770K, 16GB RAM, GTX 580 1.5GB.

  4. I got my DS1 a few days ago.  It works well with the GH4 + 12-35 F2.8 out of the box.  It is heavy but I really like being able to unfold and use the GH4's LCD screen, especially inverted.

Good to know you like it. I'm trying to decide between the DS1 and the sturdyflight. I'll be flying a GH4 as well.

  5. Isn't that the one Dave Dugdale tried and found a little too clunky as well? I remember him ultimately going with the Pilotfly H1.

Unfortunately the folks at FilmPower don't really know how to market their Nebula 4200 PRO. It looked rather interesting... but I have serious question marks with how they run things. The 4000 seemed far from ideal as well, although admittedly was the one to really get this snowball rolling.

Have you guys seen the Feiyu MX? Now that might be pretty sweet. Though... with that one, the load factor really seems an issue. Guess you can't have everything.

Guess if I had to go for something now it would probably be the http://www.sturdyshots.com/sturdy2014/sturdyflight-2/ . I like the way it's set up and JazzBox seems to really like it.

Dave tried the H1+ and the Came-TV Single which is quite big.

Speaking of the Sturdyflight, it's ugly as hell, but the videos on their web site are the best I've seen so far. Period.

  6. Anything else people would like to see?

I would really like your take on the GH4 V-LOG + FilmConvert which seams to make the most out of it.

I bet I'm not the only one...

Anyway, good to see the nice stuff that's coming !
