What a shame, upsetting NAB from Panasonic. No interchangeable lens camera and GH4 didn't get V-log or 2.35 guidelines! Most of us don't use actual anamorphic lenses, we would just like to have the guidelines as a reference even if we've been able to compose for it. URSA Minor 4.6K is the star of the show
I feel your pain - I'm in the same boat - but I'm sure those will come soon.
-
'Russian', they say and I saw some big anamorphic 'blocks' in the video, must be LOMO.
Thanks, I wasn't sure.
I hope more people will watch that 10 min. video - I'm really impressed ! That organic look is sooo beautiful and feels sooo right. I think 24p Anamorphic is the perfect addition to V-Log, which I'm sure will come in the near future.

Just noticed there's a 10 minute test of the new firmware and V-Log. Maybe that answers some questions - *watching*
I think the anamorphic shoots look STUNNING ! I'm so glad I watched this. What lens did they use ?
-
I think the 3rd camera is the new URSA with the 4.6K sensor at $6,995.

Sounds to good to be true.

Illya from Hot Rod Cameras said a cryptic "All I'll say is you may be surprised..." in the V-LOG thread over at dvxuser :
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?333445-GH4-V-log&p=1986534258&viewfull=1#post1986534258
I wonder what that means ?

I'm really looking forward to this firmware update. Would love to see small things like a 2.35 frame guide. And who knows, maybe they'll go crazy and give us UHD 60P.

Bump.

I'm interested as well !
Even a better eyecup would be great. -
Hi,
Do I need a IR cut filter to go with my Tiffen Vari ND on the GH4 ?
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/813278-REG/Tiffen_77VND_77mm_Variable_Neutral_Density.html
Or is IR pollution something the GH4 can handle just fine ?
Thanks ! -

From the Camera Labs review :
http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Panasonic_Lumix_GH4/
"There's also a broad array of display options when composing on the GH4. You can view a choice of alignment grids or draggable guidelines...".
I would be surprised if you couldn't get some sort of 2:35 guidelines. -
Received mine !
I strongly recommand this guide to anyone. It's a shame using the GH4 without reading it.
For 20 bucks, you get so much valuable information - it's scaring. It's worth every single penny.
Thanks for doing this Andrew ! -

Well since it is arriving this week, and this week being 'the future' I don't have much to spill at the moment. I know what it is, but before I have it in my hands, it would be silly to blog about it wouldn't i!
Well, you could give us a hint... I just registered so I could ask you.
I'm a long time lurker and have been reeding your blog for years (actually wanted to say "following you for years", but thought it sounded creepy).
Anyway, thank you very much for this blog and all the time and work you have put into it, so anyone can get inspired.
You certainly inspired me to get the same white Ikea table to go with the Dell U2711. :-) -
"Something INCREDIBLE is arriving this week at EOSHD for the Pocket Cinema Camera… It will lighten all our spirits! Be sure to check the blog in the next few days."
Come on Andrew, spill the beans, it's Sunday !
Panasonic GH4 firmware update brings 24p Anamorphic, V-LOG coming in later update / watch footage
