it all depends on personal evaluation of money! Z6 and Gh5 have around 500 euro difference, at least in europe where i live. With possibility to get GH5 at a lower price and also used one. But at least there are 500/600 euro difference. Which is something less than the cost of a Ninjia, whic even if it is cheapest in the market it is still worthy around 700 euo. Which is a big amount, for me. Eventually if you put the 500 more between z6 and gh5 and 700 for atomos, then you get an amount which worth a camera!. That said Z6 could be still considered for buying as it seems a great camera, but we can t tell that has the same cost of gh5, unless 600 euro for you is nothing!

what i do at the most is docufilm, documentary, which i send to festival. No money from them, at least till now. Sometimes i do some short film, still for pleasure, sometimes it happens i have some paid job for small promotional video So that said i am not ready to spend a lots of money, but i still want a nice tool that give me excitment in using it, because this is part of the creativity. I could reach a budget up to a z6 with kit lens, may be a used one.. but i could not add anything else for a while. So till 2000 euro i can go, what i need more is the ability to work on my own in a fast way.And also to have possibility to work on image, dof and some color correction An handycam coul be something that fit but geerally there is little control over the image. So the idea is to get a camera that is more similar to an handycam in term of fast use. A the same time i can have mnore control whne i need to to planned shot

yes a7 iii is another option, dont know why tend to consider little all sony, there is something not reliable with them for me..don t know what..may be prices always high, lots of issues about heating that most of their camera suffer, image look great yes but seems something so delicate

resuming there are few candidates, from low end(in price ) XH1 to High end Z6 In the middle gh5,xt3..and i add an handycam like ax700/nx80 which i like for the quick of use XH1 has a good advante to be cheap and give the chance to invest more in other thing, it has it all but seems the weakest of the group? Z6 is the more expensivce (well above GH5 not exactly the same as @IronFilm said) look very good at all but it needs ATOMOS to have 422, also it does not have 60p (or it has it in hdmi recording?).Again @IronFilm said that Atomos is Cheap but i see it at over 700 euro...that is not cheap In the middle 2 alternative GH5 that is well know, perhaps is an oild project now and this is not an excting poin, while XT3 iit is new, but miss ibisi Of course coming from GH3 i did non have ibisi, nor a good autofocus, no many things that, for this reason, i would love to have it now! Another point i want to consider is the usability in editing of the files. XT3 seems to require a very strong job from pc, i don t know about the opthers. My pc is not really new, and i have not the intention to change it now Some Z6 user says that for video Z6 is not yeat as mature as other product being the forst mirrorless project fron Nikon Don't know..what i need is something i can primary work in a similar way to handycam, for speed of use. Also of course need to have control over the image if needed

well with tripod or gimbal..no ibis!

this could be a good solution. I already have a selection of old Minolta Rokkor lenses which i used on GH3. Can't rely only on manual focus though, as often i need to be able to rely on autofocus, being me the only operator working at documentary, interview etc... I don tknow how the AF of gh5 has improved, for what i have read seemes nearly unusable. You never thaught of XT3?

I could reach Z6 budget with a big effort, but could not add an external recorder. Same reason can t go for c200. Too much money. Z6 coul dbe interesting, though it is a new camera, new experienxe for nikon in mirrorless..don't know seems like should be wise to wait a while to get feedback from users. Also seems much more stills oriented than video

Hello, coming from a GH3 it is a while i am looking around to choose a new tool. Can t get to find the ideal situation, as i need to put together the needs of a run and gun style and possibility to have a good image working on dof. I would say a videocam like ax700 would be the solution but, can t manahe a lot dof. Could go for a GH5 but it has a terrible Autofocus. Could go for Fuji XT3 but no IBIS! so what to do?wait another model that got it all? Also a combination of 2 model, a videocam and aslr, perhaps second hand o do not exceed the budget. And also i fear that eventually i will end up using only one of the 2. So what could be the solution? Thanks for sharing opinions!

I have this problem. Seems like in manual when pressing/releasing Assist MF button, the costant preview go wrong, or off i would say.In fact after that change in live view gets very small even if i rotate all the way the 2 setting aperure and shutter speed. And when i shut the pics come out with big difference form live view. Just like if Costant preview goes off and in manual mode the button to set Constant Preview on/off don't work!So for now what i can do is switch off the camera, and when it goes on it works correctly again, Until when i press ASSIST MF. Now, i pleasntly ask to GH3 owner, if they have the same? Is it a bug? My camera has problem? Is there any setting to change this? Thanks

hello I just have becomed owner af a GH3 I have no lenses and i need ones, and quick, as i want to shot! Now, saying that my main use is video and that i must stay on budget, so i can't consider very nice lenses like 12 35, i have narrowed down to 2 main choices 1 ) 14 140 2) 14 45 + 45 175 (or 45 200) i can have both solutions already on a 2 hand market, the option 2 como out cheaper than the first What do you suggest?

g6 it is not yet out in the market then?
-
so this site is very unreliable http://snapsort.com/compare/Panasonic-Lumix-G6-vs-Panasonic_Lumix_DMC-GH2 start back to consider g6 then..wait your reviews and opininon
-
ok, just find out that g6 has no external mic input i need to use an external mic though...so think that is not the right option
-
still trying to go for gh3..if i could find a good 2 hand no doubt! right now lens and body for gh3 go quite high...and looks bit heavy to cope.. :)
-
what about sofwtared and controls..i am talking about comparision beetwen gh2 and g6 i am tempted from g6 as newer, i imagine could be more advanced..

i have just put away d5100, as for video was poor, both in quality and in capability of use I made my mind up for gh3..but too high in price, trying to get some bargain but it is very difficult now comeout that d5200 is competitive to gh3..and cheaper i saw some footage test ...and i must say it looks nice, but compared to gh3. cant' totally tell as in different video appear different. looks like defintiion it is very good, but color and light in some footage makr better d5200 in other gh3 so i ask to someone who own both or tested both what is better in what? why gh3 and why d5200? what better choice though? is 5200 software better than 5100 or still the same limit? (can't make really manual work and limited by liveview)
-
can t wait so much,i have nikon d5100 and i am really annoied with it, feel stucked as doing video with it has got zero excitment now
-
i want tohave both, oherwise i will go for a videocamera but priority is definetly for video,i want to do stills but if ihave to choose i will choose for better video quality, no doubt
-
would says just few words to explain why that choice?

hello, reading forum, watching videos , test, comparisions, opinions can't get to a final decision 2 option according 2 different budget low budget includes choices between panasonic gh2, nikon d5200, canon 700d higher budget choices between canon 5dmk2 and panasonic gh3 Many options i know, but looking around seems to be religious war around, i'd like to have some of your opinions and why one is better over the others for what i have experienced, i tried canon 5d and i know it is very good,i lke the body i am alo realy tempted fromgh2 but i never have it in my hands, and i worry it is a little thing to manage being unpracatical thanks al
-
as gh2 normally is sold with 14 42 or with the more expensive 14 140 lenses, which one you suggest to get? or better body only and get differnt lens(which one)?
-
or i am considering reading here..nikon d5200? i have a 55/200 nikkor wich i could reuse and generally being stucked to a brand like nikon means every investment in lens will be valuable If i go to Panasonic and buy lumix lenses...would be terrific to switch back to a nikon product and waste all that lumix but a part of this what about nikon d5200 as alternative?

Hello after getting into video world with dslr, few month ago wiht a Nikon d5100 i soon find out that that machine will not satisfy me anymore So i discover the Panasonic GH world As i am tryng to stay budget i am considering to get a second hand GH2 Some people says, that gh1 is a good choice as save money for same performance of gh2 Of course there is GH3, expensive, but might be considererd may be wating some more time if really much better What your opinion? GH2 is worthy the extra money compared to gh1? Is it much better trying to go for gh3? Thanks
