  1. But, you've made it with your GH4... BTW, you should be hired for Lumix Luminary instead.
  2. I'm sorry guys for my non-native English! : D Trust me, even in Portuguese, my writing (just trying to go after my thoughts) is not so straightforward, as I'd like and it should be variably assigned. In English, much more labyrinthic, I believe. At times, it is per style such as subliminal speech to be read between-the-lines indeed. This happens especially with people like you I am used to read in a frequent basis. My bad I fail to leave it with you when happens. You are not the first ones nor the last ones to notice, I guess. I love complex stuff, true. I bet that's the reason why GH5 AF system attracts me enough to advocate myself in Panasonic's behalf... LOL Take a look in the messages I left there. Maybe they can help to follow my thinking on topic, I think so :-) BTW, thanks for your care and earlier compliments too! E :-)
  3. This is not good for any serious shooter and picture lover. Not because of AF but because of people focused to have decent IQ from affordable professional standards in the hands of many more talented artists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGBZugOhi8o
  4. In fact. Michael Ma had hinted it. Your tests touch his reliability. You are a serious player as camera user amongst his audience, he is a professional cameras reviewer. That's the difference he sees. It matters. Reason why I also blame this revolution when mirrorless cameras start to be introduced as mere digital cameras and the usual players as professional camera experts post stuff like this: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?353650-GH5-Autofocus-Test&p=1986693286&viewfull=1#post1986693286 The world is upside down! Glad, it is. Paul Leeming can be seen as one of them, he is surely brave enough but he is only one of us :-)
  5. I believe in his honest efforts to begin with. But, his perspective is flawed now. To criticize the GH5 manual disclaimer, some other example, doesn't help at all, only can confirm it. He's trying his best only to stay reliable on the picture. Unless he had a malfunctioning unit to test with (which I doubt), your testing shows there's something going wrong with the methodology of his tests. To me, he had to even be more complete than he was. GH5 AF system is complex enough to require the customization of distinct scenarios. Still hoping he will come to understand and stand corrected it.
  6. Here you have... (can we call it now?) bias. From 6:38 on...
  7. Indeed. Something to know is that external recording provides faster and more accurate AF too :-D
  8. Realistically true. I think it's also because life moves too fast today, well, much beyond media convergence of nowadays. People literally have no patience to set up stuff with detail. And these things fully require it. I left the plead to Yuryev on his comparison video, let's see if he adds his input on such request: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEsSsdTKJs4&lc=z122fzywwwqsidcbd04chxzyhqyfcfxhlkw0k Something I believe as useful on his door (not only because of the contrast of its lines as Michael Ma wrote, nice catch) is the fact he's now at devil's advocate angle. His words from his interpretation over the GH5 manual is a finest example of all this agitation around and produced by his viral YT video tests. It would be nice to see his new entry if so happens.
  9. That's the point. This has been ignored and followed by canceled orders based on YT testers. Here's another one, seems happier:
  10. No, no, their integrity can't be under suspicion! :-D
  11. I told you guys, his popularity is on high : D Good for him. But don't come later to preach me about good Samaritans... :-)
  12. No worries, Ken. We have no need to go out of here to mercilessly be under attack... LOL ;-) Moreover, attacking some new camera only to justify the needless compulsion to buy it.
  13. In my native country, there's an old saying which wonders if someone's bad is from the trousers or the ass... I don't think his new unit will save his grace other than keeping his integrity, I hope. This taboo on the skills required to perform a task vs lack of them puzzles me... Copy that.
  14. I hope you never had inferred that from my position because I've seen you to defend him but you never saw me to bash his honest efforts, I sincerely believe. Otherwise, I've been with you on that one. Generalizations can be a bitch. This also applies to everyone. As Daniel Patrick Moynihan said, we're entitled to have our own opinion, just not our own facts. Pity, people tend to forget it and take themselves in more than their own account.
  15. Well, maybe the guy needs to improve his skills as camera operator? What do you know of the user as shooter? Does GH5 prone to require a skilled cameraman or camerawoman? For sure. Do Canon and Sony have better AF outcome? Very likely, straight out the box and for their superior technology used for AF. Will this stop anyone to buy it? Thousands of them because of disinformation and lack of depth on topic.
  16. This one is the best one available so far IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG-G3tIhaig
  17. LOL Good one, my vote for thread's 2nd quote!
  18. Indeed. Disappointing to see. Frankly and I hope sincerity here may be tolerated and really welcome instead, correctness (in every way) should overcome our personal tastes. They can lead us to fail.
  19. Oh by my goodness, what did I write you had disliked? (I've just done a little edit up there) That's non sense. We need to be able to stand any discussion when polite. I won't second you, though. I'll still be able to follow and like your posts when you make it happen. I'll miss your usual likes anyway. Pity you're unable to be reciprocal for such matter ;-) YT mediocrity rules over our heads.
  20. LOL Quote of the thread! :-) I am sorry man, but I am lost on your concern about his business. His popularity is not going down, on the contrary...
  21. There's no bad publicity. It is not a matter of disrespect -- the guy even seems pretty honest on his effort, but objectiveness and excellence.
  22. Exaustive testing means too little when the task is not peanuts and people tend to expect it like that or are unable to go beyond. Life is not easy. Not even when we're used to take it accordingly. Enough is not always enough.
  23. @wolf33d, take a look for the best of sources available instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG-G3tIhaig
