  1. I find the footage very nice to work with. Just a light touch on it and I'm loving what I see. Can't wait to get my new GH4!
  2. Here's my take on the Andy shot. Simple white balance correction and some minor adjustment of the master levels.
  3. holy cow the porsche clip looks,.... Yow! Borrowed the holy cow line from AaronChicago. Just put the clip in after-effects and in my excitement threw a bunch of magic bullet looks at it and I'm drooling. OK, now I just dropped an Eastman 5298 EXR 500T film stock on it and I'm in love.....
  4. somewhere in asia there's a baby gh4 with my name on it.

  5. I wouldn't count out the 96fps recording yet. The 96fps footage we saw in the camera store tv demo on youtube of the gh4 looked really good and quite clean. I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
  6. Speaking of speedboosters, I've been thinking of selling all my canon FD lenses including my really nice 55mm 1.2 and investing in pana-leica glass for my gh4, but then I might just get a metabones speedbooster. Looking forward to your daily entries on the gh4 Andrew!
  7. A C200 with a prores codec would be a beautiful thing indeed. Will the price will be that "entry level" though? I expect it will be similarly priced to the current C100 if not slightly more. Of course, entry level is all relative isn't it? It looks as though Canon is really going to try to move dslr video shooters over into buying something from the C series. Can't say I blame them, they've got the dslr market pretty well covered as far as dominating sales.
  8. @Orangenz the rolling shutter on that video made me seasick. I wouldn't touch that camera.
  9. @leafcutter with that moire it's gotta be a canon dslr. I noticed it as well.
  10. wow that actually looks like something fun to carry around. Nice design Nikon.
  11. You can shoot video at high shutter speeds, but even at slow shutter speeds you will find many sharp frames of video. Try it.
  12. Not impossible at all. I've gotten plenty of really sharp pictures from video.
  13. I agree that being able to get prints from video is a great concept. I already do it with 2K footage, because some of my best photos are taken from times when I'm shooting video. 4K is going to be excellent for this. 8 megapixels is definitely enough for great prints. Is wasn't long ago that the best professional digital cameras available had less than that.
  14. I think this camera is for photographers. for that it's not bad at all. Personally, I'm heading to GH4 land. My GH2 will become my B cam.
  15. Excellent film Bryan. I really enjoyed the street scenes. That shot of the cars rolling down the street is almost surreal from an image quality standpoint. just beautifully done. The time-lapse at the end with the stars over the temple? could you share which lens you used for this? As far as this camera. It looks like my investment in MFT since the GH2 came out has paid off handsomely and will continue to do so. Now I might be leaning towards investing in more panasonic glass to take advantage of some of the new AF features of this camera. An external recorder for when I need ultimate quality might be needed as well. A speed booster with my manual nikon glass is in the cards too. Great first look Andrew, I'm actually excited about a new camera again! This hasn't happened since the GH2 came out.
  16. I really like the idea of a large pixel micro 4/3rds size sensor. potential for great low light, low noise and a less shallow depth of field than full frame is great for shooting events where it's much easier to catch focus quickly.
  17. in-body stabilization has such amazing promise for filmmakers.  Sony will no doubt exploit it in their upcoming cameras.   Panasonic is just getting started with the upcoming GX7 and has quite a bit of catch up to do, but I have high hopes for the technology.
  18. @EOSHD   I took a look at that comparison and almost blew Pepsi out of my nose laughing so hard.   I think they are on crack.
  19. The demo of the autofocus on the 70D I've seen looks really good, but I was expecting more from the image quality.  I'll be hanging on to my GH2 awhile longer, thanks Canon.
  20. I know that here in the USA there are still quite a few small independent theaters willing to take chances on small creative films. Many towns/cities have one or two.  Upstream Color was shown mostly in these kinds of theaters and people who are into movies have a way of finding them.  I think Spielberg and Lucas should start spending some of THEIR OWN money in the way Shane Carruth did and let's see what they do creatively.
