Since 1080 looks like 720p on a ML Free 5D this shouldn't be much of an issue.

They'll be demoing it here in Baltimore this week. I wouldn't mind taking a look.

I'm still debating which Speedbooster to get for my GH4. I have good Canon FD and some Nikon glass, but I'm not sure I want to use either of these options boosted.
I'm leaning Nikon, but if an EF booster comes along I may sell a bunch of lenses and go that way. Like Ben Corwin said, I'll wait it out a bit longer.

it does have color adjustment, not sure about intensity.

what andy said.... haha

I've only been playing with my new GH4 for at most an hour now. Focus peaking works well, and during recording. It could be a bit more sensitive, but I'm going to get a heck of a lot of use out of it. I think it works even better when you set your EVF to monochrome since the color peaking stands out better.
I don't have a BMPC so I can't compare the two.

looking really good Aaron, all hand held?

I am thinking about this lens as well, in nikon format since I already have the excellent 85mm f/1.4. Keep us updated on how your 10mm is working, I'd love to hear about how it works.

Thanks for clearing that up!
Interesting though, I use this method a lot to open raws from new camera's and it usually doesn't work if the sensor is really different. Or it would at least fuck up the colors etc... (happens when you change OM-D E-M1 raws to E-M5 for example).
It is really strange isn't it? I have the same problems sometimes.

I sprung for the kingston 64GB U3 card myself. should be here before the camera. If others find the transcend works well I'll be getting one of those as well. 200mb/s Intraframe will eat up space.

the reason i prefer a panasonic sensor is because of all the amazing filmic videos i have seen the gh2 produce. haven't really seen that with the gh3's sony video-like sensor. with the gh4 having that same sony sensor, i am hoping i can be proven wrong
Is it confirmed to be the same sony sensor? I thought it was based on the gx7 sensor which is supposedly a panasonic design.

I think the person who posted this video is doing a great service to all those who don't know about this, and for those who see the issue and think the clipped highlights are just the way the GH4 looks.

Andrew, how are you controlling the iris on these Sigma's?
oops, nevermind, the metabones has aperture control. Nice!

I had a chance to play with the Sony AX100 in Best Buy last week. This rolling shutter is JUST LIKE IT in 4K mode. I will say that the AX100 did have a great image in 4K and the rolling shutter in 1080 mode was not bad at all.
I'm going to have to go look at it. I didn't know Best Buy had them in stock.

If Chubby isn't available about Den Lennie? :)
This explains all the slow moving and locked down shots in all that beautiful footage we've seen so far. I guess they didn't want to let the cat outta the bag too early. I can't help feeling this is nothing more than a bridge camera to something far better coming soon from Sony. It's not really 4k, but it is,... it's great in low light, but it's processing power isn't good enough to control the rolling shutter. Maybe next year though.

Ptui to those tiny sensered full frame 5D's and A7S's! Seriously though, I imagine you could build a truly low-light monster out of one of these. It'll be interesting to see how good they are at 4k.
-
I think another option would be to overlay a layer of 16 bit color, maybe a dithered 16 bit vignette created in photoshop, to the 4k file to increase it color depth and cover those areas of the image that have one one 8 bit color. Render that out in 444. Then down sample/size to 2k. Actually add color to the 8bit 4k file manually. If that makes sense.

I like the 4K Ready moniker. it's a really good 1080p camera. 90% of it's buyers will never record a second of 4k on it.
-
That is indeed very strange. Seems like someone was in a hurry to get something out there for NAB and the fact checkers didn't catch it. The demo we've seen might not even have been shot on the A7S. haha
maybe it does have pixel binning?
Stunning New Camera!

I'll pass, it doesn't look to be full frame and I really need that shallow DOF. I do like the built in light and multiple lenses though.
