I always thought the 1" sensor made more sense with a faster fixed lens.  And only 5mm deeper than the s90.  The 1080p60 28mbps video should be very good based on the HX9v. [/quote] The new Nikon 85mm doesn't seem to be as sharp wide open.  It also has slower AF and a plastic body.  The 9 aperture blades on the 75mm should give a nicer bokeh vs the 7 blades on the Nikon.  I don't think the pricing is that far off considering what you get.  But I do agree that some would be willing to sacrifice in some areas to get a lower price.

And Adobe made a wise move in limiting initial OpenCL GPU acceleration support to those MacBook Pros running OSX Lion equipped with the HD 6750M and HD 6770M chips with 1GB or more VRAM: That particular move was made largely because Apple no longer sells any of its systems with NVIDIA GPUs. The HD 6750M and HD 6770M GPUs in iMacs will also not be supported because those systems with said GPUs have only 512MB of VRAM - too little VRAM to even enable GPU acceleration at all. I'll leave it to our engineering leads/managers (Steve and Dave) to talk about specifics, but there is actually a lot more engineering and testing work that would need to be done to use OpenCL on Windows. When Premiere Pro CS5 came out, Premiere Pro could use about half a dozen cards for GPU acceleration. With each update, we added more, so that it's now more than two dozen, including two using OpenCL. From this, it should be very clear that we are taking a conservative but brisk approach to these GPUs: We will only support what we have been able to implement and test fully, and we'll add more as we get specific requests and have the time/resources to do so.

[/quote] You could say the same about FF vs 1.5 crop.  Actually the difference between m43 (1.85 crop in video) vs 1.5 crop is small compared to the drop from FF.  Lens selection will have a greater impact.

The GH3 will likely come with AVCHD 2.0 and support 24p @ 28mpbs.  This will likely be better than the GH2 hack with the vanilla patch.  Other improvements will likely make the upgrade worthwhile and then just wait for the GH3 to be hacked.

Since you already have a very good video camera, I would wait until the GH3 in September and then make a decision.

It is amazing how much effort went into designing the lens for this camera, while no effort was placed on the overall camera speed.  Maybe Sony will get it right with their large sensor fixed zoom camera.  At least the video should look good with their APS-C sensor and manual controls. Is there a glossary of terms somewhere for these hack patches.  Not used to all these terms Intra, GOP and other short forms.  Just picked up a GH2 with MKE400 and trying to figure out where to start with video.

The GH3 is not coming until Photokina according to comments from Panasonic.  So expect rumors in August, announcement in September and released just before Christmas (assuming you can find one).  I picked up a used GH2 a week ago for less than $600 locally.  Decided not to wait.
