  1. Mr Speakers (Now called Dan Clark Audio) Ether C. Never had such a good reference pair. Really transparent on the source. Feed it a good source and amp it well, and it shines. Does not flatter unless you find a good matching amp (can sound flat or boring on some DACs). Amazing expansive sound stage. Pairs well with a good tube amp or the new super small Radsone HUD100 DAC on "Dynamic" mode. Beyerdynamic T5p. Superb exciting travel and studio cans, really durable and rapid, controlled bass like a planar. Some of the best closed dynamic headphones for the price. Can comfortably wear them on street. Very good isolation. Change the pads though to velor. Hifiman Sundara. Total bargain for the price. No isolation with it being open though, so not as flexible as the Beyer and Ether. Very detailed bass. Denon / Fostex varieties / all great (Massdrop THX00, E-Mu Teak and older AH-D5000 my favourite ones) https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/survey-foster-443742-variants-subjective-listening-tests-denon-ah-d5000-massdrop-fostex-th - However not 'really' closed cans - more like open. Don't isolate well for studio or street usage. Hifiman Ayra - very detailed planar with amazing control. Easy to drive. I rate them above LCD-X but they are less dark, less weight in the low end. There are also some amazing Chinese IEMs around the $100-150 mark. Z Reviews has covered a lot of the good stuff. Beware the hype though. It gets expensive.
  2. Which model of e-bike? How is the battery so small - part of the frame?
  3. Yeah wish the power switch was around the shutter release.
  4. https://www.eoshd.com/news/canon-officially-schedules-9th-july-live-event-to-reveal-eos-r5-and-eos-r6/ https://www.canon.co.uk/pro/events/reimagine-live-event/ Save the date! Shills will be out in force!
  5. https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/first-confirmed-spec-sony-a7sii-successor-has-a-new-9-44-million-dot-evf/ Apparently not even a rumour, he's seen the proof. I am ready for the $6000 price tag
  6. You give me a reason to laugh, that would be a start.
  7. I think you're a consumerist idiot. Genuinely - if you don't want hyped prices... why cut and paste a YouTube hype piece about it all over Internet forums. And then say "NOOOOOOOO" What are you? a 12 years old? This shill likely trawls this forum for content ideas - This thread being one. Which is why you see his F3 hype piece and smirky expression. Where do you think he genuinely got the idea for buying an F3 from? Do you really think he has a single original idea of his own? Youtube - the gold standard for scientific research 😂 And his stuff is that boring too, I can't get past the first 15 seconds
  8. I agree. You got to the heart of it there. And on top of that mindset he displays absolutely no learning, no knowledge, no talent for photography or film. A consumerist twerp in a baseball cap. The primitive dumb humour really is on his audience's level True! He does seem to be a genuine, authentic weirdo. What I have come to like about it is he does actually get it right. The actual camera musings are really solid. I even learn something from it. I have not learnt a single bit of knowledge from Kai. And Chris / Jordan just state the obvious... what could be written down in one paragraph stretches to over 10 minutes. It comes down in the end to why people watch YouTube Is it to learn about cameras and be entertained. Or is it to just be entertained only and indulge in some warm, fuzzy, consumerism? The way most people treat YouTube is same way as going shopping with friends for a new pair of Nike. Kai treats people with distain speaking from personal experience. At the last Photokina he was shooting with Blackmagic P4K. So I DM'ed Kai to see if he'd be up for a shoot. I always try to meet in person if I want to figure out what somebody is like. He said a vague yeah, totally uncommitted... really disrespectful. A day passes, nothing. He then actually started teasing me with photos of his BM P4K, while dodging the meet-up for a coffee. WTF? Then I pushed again to meet up and he ghosted me till the end of the show. He was literally in same show hall as me. And this is a guy who has not once reached out to EOSHD or used the forum, or referenced me in his work over 10 YEARS of being in same camera community!! So he can fuck off as far as I'm concerned and take his shitty videos with him.
  9. I thought at first it was just Safari refusing to do 4K but yes it is only in 1080p. Wish there was a Vimeo-like site for high quality cinematic stuff, that actually worked.
  10. There is a Sigma Fp review on YouTube by you know who... "This camera is TERRIBLE" It is an absolute travesty of justice that it has 105k views whereas Sigma's short film has less than 3000. It is exactly for this reason I am so reluctant to put any effort into YouTube content myself. I can't compete with all the bullshit. You have to feel sorry for the director. I think Films are better off in the cinema. "Sin sin" was going to Cannes before the coronavirus hit. Better to rise above. I am proud of my written reviews. Don't care if it's a niche, or if I'm an outsider! Been doing them for 10 years. Why give that up and basically go on a TV shopping channel? My 1D X III YouTube review has about 2000 views - was a complete waste of time I'd have to embrace advertising and tacky merchandise to make YouTube work financially. And if it worked I'd get a big ego. Besides, it's a real grind and work rate is atrocious - I am not willing to become part of the YouTuber-manager-orchestrated-circle-jerk of established YouTube celebrities.
  11. If you don't want that prick talking about it and the price going up why have you plastered the video all over this forum?
  12. HDMI is just a data protocol really. A bit like USB is. I assume RAW sensor data (1s and 0s) come out of the Z-CAM and all the Ninja V does it is compress it to ProRes RAW format. HDMI has a bandwidth limitation like USB but that has increased over the recent years with HDMI 2.0 needed to transmit more and more data, like 4K/60p for instance.
  13. AMD Radeon GPU required for 422 then, perhaps?
  14. My review of the film: https://www.eoshd.com/news/review-of-the-sigma-fp-4k-raw-film-sin-sin/
  15. Z-CAM with ProRes RAW is in many way more useful on that camera, because you need to add the screen anyway, and it doesn't have a standard or widely supported internal RAW codec, so you may as well use the Ninja with it if you want to shoot RAW. The 5.8K will be on the more expensive larger sensor models and I think 4K on the M43 Z-CAM E2. I'll do a blog post about it in due course. Would help if they could keep me informed so I can prepare one. I'm not a psychic
  16. Is it true that 10bit 4:2:2 isn't hardware accelerated? Maybe this is why Fuji go for 4:2:0
  17. Logged on and what do I see Yes another topic waylaid by Super8 causing arguments If you keep it up, I will have to do what's best for the forum as an informative tool for filmmakers. And you know what that means.
  18. I have been considering real names for this forum for a while but it doesn't seem to help the comment standard on the EOSHD Facebook group
  19. Good post I think the leaf shutter compacts like X100 need a 2 or 3 stop ND for exposures in bright light at F2. The Sony RX1 had a maximum mechanical leaf shutter speed of 1/2000 but no ND in that and I found it tricky to avoid overexposure in sunlight. On some cameras e-shutter kicks in to give you 1/8000 but then you get rolling shutter. The FS5 variable eND I don't remember moving out of the way but I could be wrong on that. I think the sensor stack just goes clear. If you move glass out of the way it changes the focus and image quality, doesn't it? I could be wrong about that. The easiest "slide out the way" solution for me would be to have a slot-in ND filter over the sensor that inserts into the camera like a memory card behind a door. This way you can quickly take it out or put it in without messing with filter rings or adapters. The ideal solution would be an eND that goes clear. The other solution would be variable ND in the lens adapter but it wouldn't sell very many native mirrorless mount lenses. Canon's for example only works with EF lenses!
  20. All those sharp lenses from 30 years ago must have fooled me. Lenses ARE an investment. Some of mine have increased in value by as much as $1000 to $2000 in just 5 years for rarities, some in 10 years. Especially anamorphic. I have well used lenses from the 1970s that are incredibly sharp nearly 50 years later. Nikon 105mm F2.5 Sure there will be duds But none of what I read in this topic matches my experience and I have a lot of experience due to being an addict
  21. https://www.eoshd.com/news/fujifilm-hint-at-44x33-large-format-gfx-h100-filmmakers-camera-open-gate-4k3k/ What 100MP quad bayer capable sensor were Fuji referring to in this document (if not the GFX 100)? It doesn't look like the GFX 100 actually employs this readout method. So is this something they are saving for a future camera?
