I have upgraded the EOSHD front-end with a new theme It should be much snappier than the old one in terms of load times It now has 2 columns and a wider responsive layout (check it out - http://www.eoshd.com) Blog posts will be full width with HUGE images and video content (example - http://www.eoshd.com/2016/11/now-available-eoshd-pro-color-for-sony-cameras-including-a7s-ii-a7r-ii-and-a6300/) Hope you like it and let me know your feedback / bug reports below...

Try setting the timeline monitor to quarter-res in Premiere Also a single hard disk drive isn't optimal for 4K video editing, I'd look seriously at a RAID or SSD setup Consider moving to Resolve 14 Studio Edition as it has far better performance from the core rendering engine than Adobe is able to give you

Meanwhile Resolve gets Fairlight Audio. I think I'll let Adobe's new team rock back and forth in the corner for a few years while they figure out how to add Titles to the Menus.

Panasonic Teases New Compact Cinema Camera
Andrew - EOSHD replied to Hanriverprod's topic in Cameras
Interesting they put a full frame lens like the 24-35mm on there, what are they trying to say? If it were Super 35mm they'd put the 18-35mm on it, surely. -
NAB 2017 so far has been a curious one. The biggest announcement has been a stills camera. The A9 however may give us some clues as to what to expect with the new video-monster. Read the full article

How does Premiere handle 10bit FS7 footage? Same crap?

Absolutely +10000 I am going to write a blog about this. Adobe's GH5 support has been completely off-hand. Do you have a Mac to hand? Try EditReady, it's the best $50 I ever spent.

PSA: Don't buy any gear! NAB 2017 is One Week Away
Andrew - EOSHD replied to andrgl's topic in Cameras
Yeah looking boring so far but remember... it doesn't start proper until Monday. And leaks usually don't start to appear until the day before. However I am not that hopeful for much excitement on the camera side. Sony probably won't come with an A7S 3 just yet... Panasonic probably won't come with much as GH5 still fresh... Canon probably asleep and Nikon probably doesn't even know NAB is on -

Isn't it a hybrid system with phase detect AF points on the sensor and contrast detect too? I don't see how that can compete with Dual Pixel AF. Even if it is faster for single shot AF in stills mode (with Sony's lenses only) - you have far less information from that kind of autofocus system. It won't be as good at object tracking in video mode. The sensor has to run at 24fps which means the read out is too slow to get the AF information off the chip for fast and reliable results. With DPAF every pixel gives AF information to the lens and processor... Millions of them. Sony should move to DPAF.

Do you want to be banned? Going the right way about it. -
No picture profiles is a bit of a disaster and shows that they are not aiming at video shooters with this. Seems Sony would much rather we buy a 10bit 4:2:2 A7S 3... With picture profiles. Looks like we will have to hold off on the purchase and wait to see what NAB brings!

Should be better now. My host did a great job. Interest in this camera is huge it seems. 65,000 requests on the server in last hour!

This announcement crashed the website. Sorry about that, looking into it with the host. Anyone else had slow page load times from EOSHD during the last 30 minutes?

I'll be the same as cropping out a 4K box from a Canon RAW still in Photoshop. So the max the sensor can give... around 12 stop and all of it rather nice thanks to 14bit RAW.

You know which cameras I'm referring to. If you don't like it, use a different forum. In fact I positively encourage it in your case!

The DX lens range is very weak. The price of the D7500 is too close to the full frame D750. The D750 is a much better choice for most photographers. The APS-C market is shrinking. It doesn't do video right. There's a huge crop in 4K. The 1080p is 'meh' I just don't see the appeal in the D7500 when you can get a D750 for a bit more money.
