bsnyder Posted November 6, 2017 Share Posted November 6, 2017 Hello, attached is a 100% zoom in on a raw file showing the spot in question. Can anyone pretty clearly ID if this is "sensor dust" of some sort or is perhaps a pixel issue? Yes, this spot shows up with different lenses on in the same location on the screen. Before I head down the road of getting a loupe, swabs and solution, I wanted to see if anyone out there can confirm one way or the other. I look at the sensor on one of our gh4s and cannot see anything resembling this spot with the naked eye. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond! Fritz Pierre Posted November 6, 2017 Share Posted November 6, 2017 I had exactly the same issue....from your photo it appears to be a dust particle clinging to the sensor....a good sensor loupe is almost a must own....they are not pricey....do your research carefully regarding cleaning a sensor....I only used a air squeeze bulb and it removed the particle....do NOT use compressed air inside your camera. Zak Forsman Posted November 7, 2017 Share Posted November 7, 2017 I had a friend whose GH4 had something similar. Was a piece of dust. I turned it over so the sensor was facing downward, and blew air into it with a rocket blower. Dust fell right out. Good as new. My friend was convinced I had just saved him hundreds of dollars.
