@ thephoenix, generally on a forum, surely a person should behave as if they are in the living room of the host, especially with a non-corporate site like this one ? Where is any satire in your attached video since this seems the actual tone of the post anyway ? I mostly see people helping each other, so am genuinely confused by this.

I find this camera fascinating but I am completely in suspense over a rumoured Foveon full frame version coming in 2020, and if that one will do video at any level. An FP camera with Foveon sensor would be amazing (would it not ?). Does anyone have any views ?

Hi Andrew, I'm probably speaking too soon, but you do those wonderfully funny spoof videos about Canon releases and specs, but when they finally release the C500Mk2 and give a date and a price, everyone covers it except for you who chooses only to mention en passing in a speculative article about Fuji. C'mon, is that entirely fair, give Canon their due... ?

Comparing to Blackmagic, I admit I've never handled one, but I read reviews talking about issues like fixed pattern noise in some models. Are those still with the 6K or has any teething been sorted out ?

I don't know if it is an urban legend but I have heard BM have a lot of quality control and reliability issues, so I have to say the Sigma fp looks more interesting to me. It will be interesting to see the price compared.

I trust this judgement, but I understand companies like BBC and Netflix have exacting broadcast standards, and I was wondering if any of the mirrorless cameras, or the upcoming Panasonic video orientated professioanl mirrorless, will satisfy that sort of criteria...

Can I ask anyone at all for some information on something I have been wondering for some time. The original BM pocket camera impacted on Digital Bolex, and the Bolex must surely have impacted on the Ikonoskop. Yet the analogue ccd family of sensors used in the Ikonoskop and Digital Bolex were never used again in the cinema camera world.....but are still in use in cameras marketed to different markets, and I can't help feeling these might really be cinema cameras in disguise, so to speak. But the connectors and image output formats puzzle me, as the specs show 12 bit uncompressed, and the sockets vary from ethernet to cameralink. Here is an example of a camera using the exact same sensor as the Digital Bolex. https://www.imperx.com/ccd-cameras/B2340/ There are other variations elsewhere, some of which come with an optional Nikon or Canon mount. Does anyone have either experience or any views at all of these cameras ?

Andrew, the BM Arsegate post and the subsequent retraction post showed total, total honesty each time, and that is worth much.

I seem to recall those early BM cameras had very mixed reviews for reliability, and they kept obsoleting their own cameras with future announcements when some people were still stuck waiting for the current one to ship. The price is certainly cheap for those specs... maybe too cheap ? Now that full frame Panasonic looks a completely different story. Andrew, off-topic I know, but do you follow Apertus, as I believe there will be Magic Lantern on steroids when that ships.

The problem there is it is good in low light and 10 bit.
