I have the Canon C500, It is a great camera now. But the file size is big..

Some of the work I have shot with my C500, I love the camera. The only part to be careful with is when you switch from say 2k to 4k YOU might as well go for a run, it takes a while to switch formats. I find the C500 and 7q a great combo parts can be glitchy, I have found peaking to freeze a bit and just general image glitches. 

Image quality you cant complain.

Nice work buddy, I haven't shot much 4k. You shooting mainly 4k with the Shogun as I know it cant handle 2k can it? 

Canon C500 with 7Q, I have this best setup. The files grade perfectly. It does 12 bit 444 in 2k up to 60fps and it looks amazing. 

Only downside is the file size.

Hi Guys, 

Anyone using a 1DC Here? What monitor do you have? 

I was looking at the SmallHD Focus, but I like the EVF loupe on the DP4, I know the screen res is different and some of the features. 

Any cost effective suggestions would be ideal.

I had the same question a couple of months back and I went for the 1DC, It is a great camera pairs well with my Canon C500. 

I got mine cheap so I went with the 1dc, bad crop in 4k mode too with the Mark 4.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah wanted a half cage so this would come apart I would add handles too.

what setup have you got?/ what camera?

Any 1DC shooters here looking for a cage/rig for hand held work. 

Small rigs do a half cage. I am assuming I just need to buy a longer rod? I would like the cheese rod and place a handle on the side.

What monitor is worth purchasing, I saw the SMALLHD Focus one, Looks great, wondered If I can get one cheaper not too fussed on features main ones would be false colour and peaking. I did see a USED DP4 and a used Marshall 5 inch monitor but only 800x400.

Any rig setups would be appreciated.

Is the file size a lot larger than a Canon C500? It was mainly a B Cam so cutaways really and crash cams and the odd camera for travelling for compact. 

Just love the image. I think it still wipes the floor with the A7 range and they are still good. 

Is the 1080p image nice in Super 35mm? Heard great things about it or its it the 4k image that just excels? 

Someone has offered me 2600.00 with cards that is in UK Pounds. Which I think is a steal.

I have been looking at getting a used 1DC for a while now B can to my c500. 

Few questions 

1. Is it worth it? I think the image is great out of this camera. 

2. What's the workflow like? 

3. I know it's 1080p out the HDMI. But can you use say a small HD focus to monitor and still record 4K internally?

4. Any accessories a must have? 

I was looking at the 5D mk4 but the crop factor was a big decider for me.

Hi All, 

I am after a little bit of information, I have read through some posts before about the Canon C500. 

I am looking at buying used one to go with my c100. What I am interested in is recorders, Are anyone of you using any Atomos products? I want to shoot the 2k 444 but I have heard there has been a problem recording this from atomos devices? 

I was also looking at the odyssey 7q+ from CVP to record pro res up to 30p and 2k, Not really fussed about the Frame Rates as I can hire an A7SII I know the look will be different.

Couple of extra questions  

1. What are the fan noises like? I have been over at DVX User and they say the fan noise is quite bad for interviews in 2k/4k due to processing power

2. How much media do you need for the 2k or 4k? 

Has anyone brought the C500 with any of the setups?
