  1. Hi Curtis,

I have an A7RII, I am a photgrapher and I also shoot video. A7RII is my main camera for traveling project run and gun with small package. I shoot 80% photos and 20% videos. For video only I would choose the A7SII.

  2. Hi,

    such a cool thread!!!!

I'am about to to the hack V2 on the nx1, just to be sure to have understood everything. By default the script nx-ba.gdb has already improved bitrate. For example the initial 80 bps  pro rate of the NX1is by default on the script at 140bps.

    Am I right?

    thank for your help

  3. Hi everybody, really like this micro camera.

I would like to use it on the go like a little raw cam...

Would it be possible to use an electronic EVF on this cam to be able to shoot.

Like using a zacuto one for example.

The problem is that the new zacuto has no battery in it and it is really expensive.

is there any good alternative to be able to do that?

    thanks.

  4. Hello Evrybody,

I need some help... I am using an A7RII for video. I bought the precious EOSHD shooter guide. However I have two more questions:

1- I keep the camera in stills mode to shoot video (Andrew advice), for example I am in Manual exposure mode, I set my shutter 1/50s if I shoot in 24p, I am in slog2 or PP6 cineflat , I look my exposure indicator and my zebra (set 100) and adjust with my variable nd filter. However when I hit the movie record button the sony switch in video mode and there is a difference in the exposure. For example when everything is set in the still mode and I have the exposure at 0, when I hit the movie button I will have in the exposure indicator +1? I do not understand why it always overexpose of 1 stop? (of course the effect is on in the live view effect menu).

2- When I use PP6 (with Andrew settings) for video with the A7RII, do I have to try overexpose (2 stops) like with Slog2 or do I have to expose at 0?

Thank you very much for your help.

  5. hi evrybody,

I need some help. I am using an A7RII for video. I bought the eoshd shooter guide. It really helps to achieve the best of the camera. However I have a problem with exposure. As Andrew advice I shoot video from the photo mode (picture effect off). I am in Manual mode my shutter 1/50 if I shoot 24p... I set my exposure to 0 or +2, depends of my log profile (slog2 or pp. cineflat), but when the sony switch to the movie mode when I hit the movie button the image is overexposed and I have to adapt by touching one more time my ND filter. Is there a way to solve that problem. Thanks for your help....

  6. Hi,

I have a little problem and I do not know the best way to deal with it.

I have to shoot a video in  "NTSC" countries with day video and night video, the final video is for a TV in europe and will be broadcasted in 25P.

My concern is for the night videos, I already started the project and off course I have black lines while shooting 25 p with artificial light in my street night videos and I hate that.

Would it be preferable to shoot the entire project in 30P then convert it later in 25P????

    Thank you for your help.

  7. Hi everybody,

I have a question about the stabilization with the A7R II.

When I use a non native lens like a zeiss sonnar ZM 50 mm f1,5 with an adaptator ring in APSC mode what is the focal I have to specify in the steady focal lens menu?

Is it 50 mm or 75 mm  in APSC mode?

    thanks for your help.

  8. I still do not understand exactly if 5 axis IBIS is good for video.

I remember an andrew test with an A7 II and he was not very happy with the IBIS.

There is no real test about the IBIS for video.

Some people say if you use a non native sony lense you will get 3 axis stabilization, other people say it is wrong if you specify the focal length in the menu you will have a 5 axis stabilization, other say you need to use a sony lense with OSS to get 5 axis stabilization in video, other say you will have 5 axis stabilisation with a sony sense like the FE 35mm f 2,8 even there is no OSS???

IBIS I think is one of the feature we want know about and nobody performs a video test even with an A7 II (hope with an A7R II) where you compare handheld shot with:

Native oss lense for example 16-35 f4 OSS Sony at 35 mm vs Sony FE 35 mm f2,8 vs non sony glass like nikon or leica M 35 mm with adapter.

  10. OIS doesn't matter it works normally, the skittish image in the viewfinder is a problem of manual focus with focus peaking in NTSC UHD 30P.

For example I shoot video in Manual focus+peaking+viewfinder+OIS ON in UHD 24P or C4K and everything is fine
