  1. The Canon 17-55 2.8 Ef-S doesn''t appear to be compatible with any speedboosters out there. Metabones says it won't work on their active EF booster. I also could not mount it on my RJ speedbooster because of that rubber ring protruding from the rear lens glass. It's s shame because it's a really nice lens haha. I was thinking of trying macro tubes in between the lens and speedbooster. That should give it some clearance. But it might not focus properly at that point.

    Edit:
Andrew talks about this is one of his articles: http://www.eoshd.com/2014/06/metabones-speed-booster-canon-ef-micro-four-thirds-mount-blackmagic-pocket-cinema-camera-edition/

"It does not work with EF-S lenses like the 17-55mm F2.8. These stick out too much at the back and leave no room for the Speed Booster."

  2. thanks man! I believe It is 48 fps, might have been 60 but no I didn't slow it down any in post

    Awesome, it's very smooth!

So I was thinking... Has anyone compared the UHD mode vs Cinema 4k resolutions to see which delivers a better overall image? I've been switching back and forth since May but haven't done any direct comparisons. There's the obvious that C4k has more resolution but i'm wondering if there are any other benefits to it. I use UHD now because it's easy to scale down my footage to 1080 without having to crop or use black bars. But I'd switch back to C4k if it offers better something or other. I'm probably beating a dead horse by now but I'm always trying to squeeze something more out of the gh4...

  3. I think it's down to the taking lens. I can get decently sharp images even without diopters depending on which prime i'm using. Helios 44-2 seems to work nicely, canon FD 35mm f2 also is sharp. I'm using this on a gh4. I haven't tried their diopters but remember they will limit your focus range to  fairly close. And try stopping down your lens when not using diopters. I think the instruction page it comes with says no faster than F2.8 at the extreme wide end and like F5.6 for 50mm. I have gone faster and still had good results though.

  4. Hi, everyone. My first post, been a long time reader of course. I have used your guys recommendations before and won't hesitate to again! Andrew, that 28-105 looks nice and inexpensive. Might try it speedboosted on my gh4.

Has anyone used the Sigma 20mm f/1.8 before? (pentax k or nikon mount with aperture ring) You can get them used for fairly cheap and I was thinking of trying it speedboosted. Should make for a super fast wide on m43. http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-Aspherical-Pentax-Samsung-Cameras/dp/B00005RKSN
