  1. I wonder though how they calculate pixels. "Full Display 1280x1024" = 130720 color pixels, and even if they count each color as pixel 3932160 "The Gratical Eye has 5.4 million pixels" ? Something does not match up.
  2. About the USB connector, the connector on the EVF is the same type as on computer? Is there actually a USB cable that has the computer end type USB connector on both ends?
  3. That will not work, even if Zacuto would sell it 300 USD, there would never be as many EVF sold as playstations. Not until they make a VR head set of it with two higher resolution panels and head traking etc and sell it 300 USD . But seriously, I see nothing wrong a high quality tool costing 2000 USD, I am only happy to see there is still companies making high quality tools. Of course if it would cost 300 USD, I would get it for sure, 2000 USD, 'it would be nice to have', does not really justify investing that much.
  4. I do not see the relevance of the panel DPI and is it 2700dpi, but anyway I have Sony HMZ-T1(3D head mount display) with 1280x720 OLED panels very nice panels, two of them, likely very similar panels than on this, but thanks to the optics between the panels and eye, individual pixels are clearly visible. I assume Zacuto has better optics, so the pixels should be even more visible.
  5. I like the form factor and how it looks, looks like a high quality tool, but for the price I would expect better resolution than 1280x1024.
  6. The BMMCC form factor is perfect for a small and capable gimbal. The question just is, how much interest there is for such. LeViteZer Smooths the movement, www.levitezer.com

    Sony a6300 4k

Could the Sony A6300 KIT 16-50 mm (with PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS) handle this, asking seriously as it could be a great combo for rainproof gimbal. It appears A6300 has some kind of water and dust protection, but have not found any detailed info, and especially not of the lens.
  8. Is there interest to put this kind of camera to a gimbal? sure it would fit many generic size gimbal directly for occasional use, but a gimbal that is made to fit it could be quite small and easy to carry. I just hope the camera manufactures would but a bit more focus to the camera design from the gimbal use perspective. Though FS5 looks nice and small and controls seem to be on one side, both good things, but the connectors are placed not so ideally for gimbal use. The way the cables leave the camera make the gimbal bigger than otherwise necessary. Also the viewfinder would be nice to be removable, not sticking so far behind the camera when installed on gimbal.
  9. The follow settings are not quite optimal and takes some practise to use the gimbal, but other than that I like the video and there is couple of interesting angles and views. The Ferris wheel took me some time to figure what is going on ;). For sure this is a product that will make people aware of gimbals and hopefully they find also the alternatives, here is a gimbal under development for BMMCC vimeo.com/150123373 (but still waiting for the BMMCC)

  11. I thought someone said the second battery is only a battery holder? Maybe I understood wrong. Does the VA come with 2 batteries, can the battery be hot swapped? Does it use both batteries at the same time? The angled connector is only partial solution, and it is pain to find a good one that leaves to right direction and is right length. The VA has the power in also, I am thinking powering VA, camera and gimbal from the same battery. Edit, the product page says "space for two rechargeable batteries which are hot swappable so you always have a battery to keep the shoot going." so that is ok
  12. It looks like a great device but there is one thing that annoys me a lot. It is how the cables leave the devise. just one battery and all connectors on middle of the back panel leaving sideways would be much better. Anyway I will probably get it and need to find some cables with 90 degree angle connectors...
