  1. Back side of it when i measure across 3 7/8 i was thinking of doing what you did but i am going to need some tap set. You said that you took off Helios front so it comes closer to the sankor which i have does this eliminate some of the vignetting?

I was thinking of using plastic tube between my anamorphic lens and taking lens know that my lens cant be supported by taking lens since its 5 lbs i will mount it on a rail system.

  2. ok what about diopter for one of those big projection lenses? where front lens is like 101 mm in diameter or across any ideas how to mount a diopter on them? i was thinking or was told 82mm-72mm step down ring then mount the diopter to the ring.

  3.  Hi Guys i am selling my sankor 16c anamorphic lens (Serial 50310) with a 50mm clamp that fits on 50mm lens and front lens cover. This lens is in awesome shape inside and out side no scratch on the glass there is absolutely no fungus. Only scratch i see is on the outside part of the lens where it was being mounted on the back of the lens metal part.

Reason i am selling this lens is because i got my self one of those big projection lenses which i like and i really Don't need sankor

  4. oh man why because it was 3 am and the kids wore up ;)

Ok to be more clear here what i would like to achieve with diopter is close up of the face since my lens gets blurry not to much when i am shooting a close up of a person or object. But i have that big 5 kg lens and i am not sure what i need here or if they make diopters as big as font of my lens. i am in the process of shooting a Science fiction film short film so i am building my anamorphic rig

So basically i need a diopter for close up but which one? and what number or how meany

And last question Variable ND Filter is it recommended to have diopter and nd filter together?

    thanks man

  5. rcorrell is right here i am not talking about expensive lenses that cost as much as a down payment on a 4 bedroom house but everyday ebay anamorphic, i got my self sankor 16c paid 400 bucks for it another 50 for gas to get it, but just yesterday got my self Bausch and Lombbig big ass lens 50 bucks i think it was made in 1980s but the look is awesome and its dam sharp, me personally love it specially the fell and the size over the sankor. Andy ideas on a rig for this lens guys.
  6. Hi guys i got my self Bausch and Lomb Anamorphic lens which as you know it is big lens i love this lens it is sharp sharper then my sankor 16c my question is close up diopters. I am new to them and i have no idea what to get .4 .5 +1 and if they make them as big as front of my lens. I am not looking for anything expensive something in 50 to 100 dollar range and how do they work as in numbers and how many do i need? i was reading on the anamorphic forum The Diopter Thread but i could not get all the answers

    Thanks

  7. I thought those lenses are supose to be sharp? dont get me wrong i like the look but to me looks soft and not sharp at all compare to other like sankor must be the fd lens you are using. I just got me self one of those big lenses i belive its Bell and howell anamorphic and its sharper then sankor. And i can use 35mm and up with no vigneting at all but its a bitch being 5lbs

Can you post some videos of ef or any new recent lens.

    Thanks Great work

  8. so to get this right guys helios 44 and Jupiter-9 should do the trick but i would need a adapter to use them on my 60d. So 60mm and up should be ok without vignetting? I also have lens canon 55-250 ef. Why do people use fd lenses with sankor is there anything wrong with canon ef lenses 60mm and up, i mean for those two lens i will need a clamp to use them on 60d?

    thanks guys

  9. Hi guys i got my self sankor 16c with 52mm clamp. I also have canon 50 1.8mm lens which has vignetting. Now what is the best way to avoid vignetting with sankor? i seen some videos with 50mm fd 1.4 canon lens and it looks like vignetting is gone are fd lenses preferred with sankor?. My last question i got this lens for panorama video shooting what lens would be good here with sankor with no vignetting.

    Thanks

  10. There is no attitude on my part, and its up to you to answer questions on this forum you don't have to if you don't want to. But when newbies such as my self ask for help we don't need advertising to a book as the answer. And don't we all like to get staff for cheap? that why we have eBay Craigslist Kijiji

I mentioned this in your other thread, but just buy the guide. It will answer this and a lot of other start up questions.

    have fun :)

  11. i will be using my sankro 16c with 60d i will pick my sankor tomorrow and it come with clamp 52 mm ring does this clamp mean that i can use any lens 52 mm and up? how do you like your kowa? There is Kowa Prominar 16-S on ebay for 425 thinking if i should get kowa.

There is also Schneider Kreuznach Cinemascope Anamorphic Lens small and portable made in 2000 or close to that suppose to be the sharpest lens and it goes nicely with ef lens. I believe short film red walker was shoot on it and it looks sharp dam sharp but to HD. How come pople are not jumping on jumping to buy such sharp lens

  12. EOSHD anamorphic guide is just to learn basic it wont save you money because it tell you not to use projection lens but to buy more expensive type 500 3000 dollars. You should start with nice isco projection lens. There are tons of example videos on you tube of almost any projection lens find one on ebay watch video and decide and come here and ask questions and read read read
