  1. I guys i have Mac pro 4.1 12 gb quad core build early 2009. I can sell it for 2000 and i am thinking  if i should and then use the money to build a PC  6 Core machine over clocked but thinking if i can get a faster machine with 2000 budget. I meanly use it for 3d rendering and editing. What do you guys think

    Thanks a bunch

    Spec

    This is mac pro 2009

Two video cards PC based Radeon HD 5770 and GTX 550Ti
1 TB Hard drive Black edition

  2. yes that is the beauty of Yashica prines they work on full frame canon and on micro 4/3 Panasonic camera

so you only need one set of primes like me if you shoot panasonic and canon

just buy a Contax Yashica to Canon EF adaptor off ebay for your 5D etc

if you go done this route please do consider the superb Carl Zeiss 28-70mm vario sonar zoom

it is C/Y mount like the Yashicas and is a very very sharp lens with a 3d type pop to it !! aspheric elements and its small and light for a zoom

  3. YASHICA ML prime lenses are superb , Im shooting on them all the time now

Zeiss Distagon equivilants , superb contrast , very sharp and available on ebay

24mm 28mm 35mm 50mm 135mm all superb lenses made in same factory as the Zeiss Distagons in Japan (I cant tell the differance)

get a Contax Yashica (C/Y) to micro 4/3 adaptor off ebay and you are done

also the Carl Zeiss 80mm Biometar is a stunning lens get that aswell and you have a superb set of primes with out breaking the bank

Andy i am actualy thinking YASHICA ML prime since price is right but would there be any issue with full frame cameras i am wating to buy black magic 4k what adapter would i need micro 4/3 adaptor? and would same adapter work on canon body.

    Thanks

  4. Thanks for reply Bioskop i know i am limited with 60d ML just  want to play with raw before buying 4k camera this summer i got 11sec on 1152x768 raw. Do you use raw in 60d setting or jpeg and using higher bitrate  with h264 what is the difference? And how would you make your raw file usable for editing do you converte them first?

    Thanks

  5. Hi guys i need some sereous help. I benn experimenting with my 60d and raw shooting i menage to get 20 sec JPG  and 20 sec of 1152x648  raw i can get more if go down in resolution  Since i am shooting on my bausch and lomb anamorphic 2x what is the best resolution here for me when it comes to squeezing my anamorphic and not loosing resolution i mean is 2x less then 648 res or should i go for maximum resolution that i can get

    Thanks guys

  6. Hi guys its time for me to buy a new camera i did have black magic 2.5k but sold it to buy 4k. I am thinking to go with BM 4k since the price is right but i am thinking to wait until end of summer before jumping in because i am not sure if other companies  will come out with something better for same price and BM 4k is Canon EF Compatible Lens Mount does this mean i can only use canon lens because i have some old lenses that i use like nikkor on 60d with adapter can i attach adapter to BM4k?

    What would you guys do?

    Thanks guys

  7. I think sliders are way over priced i made my own for 100 with ball bearings for wheels then i have two 6ft  pipes for tracks it can support so my big anamorphic ass lens and cage with no problem and i made it portable it does not look professional but its gets the job done just like the 699 dollars one and it glides dam nice and smoth and i can make it any length.  It takes some time to set up but its super awsome

I also ordered small motor that i will use to motorize the slider

  8. it si konica ar what do you mean if it is the flange focal distance is 40.50 mm so it wont work on a Canon which is 44mm FFD so it might not work and how do i find out. This lens will fit on nikon adapter but it wont lock

    thanks

  9. Hi guys i got my self vivitar 135mm lens auto telephoto vintage one i have 60d canon i am wondering what adapter i would need to use this lens on canon body.

    Thanks

  10. Hi guys shooting short film about my city and freezing my ass doing it -20. Question can you please tell me work flow that you use with FCP7 when working with anamorphic lens i am shooting on canon 60d 1080p 24. What i do now is i set my project to pro res 422 and then i go to motion tab aspect ration set to -100 to get my anamorphic. I just want to know if i am dong right here.

    Thanks guys

  11. crap o'vision that's gona be the name of my production company. i can smell the money

For people who can afford latest and grates of course 60d will be crap but for others who cant not so.

i use to be technology this and that buy shit thinking i need it like i need air but year down the road what did i shoot? did i get creative with all that gear BIG FAT NO

  12. This video really shows what you can do if you apply yourself with the tools in hand.

I recently shot a music video for a friend in RAW with my 60D & well, "Pain In The Arse" doesn't even come close to describing my feelings.

Shooting a few RAW snaps of your cats, random [street] stuff, flowers or your kid etc... & then posting just doesn't get close to how much extra unnecessary hassle it really is for a proper project.

As far as i'm concerned, if its for web delivery then i'm still going to grab my 60D first without any hesitation, as i know that i can get exactly what i want in-camera & then all i have to do is tweek it a tiny bit in post.

IMHO if you are of the mentality that says "we'll just fix it in post", then you really should be spending that wasted time learning how not to get yourself into that position in the first place.

Am going to film a short doc with the Pocket (ProRes - as RAW can go F**K ITSELF!), but i just know that it won't be as straight forward a process as using my 60D.

so you shoot raw with 60d how many frames did you get and what card did you use? thanks
