Anybody know the mount adaptability to other than Pentax lenses? Long or short flange distance? What's the mount brand/official name. I really reaaly hope it takes Nikon and or Canon lenses because of the IBIS.

    Flange distances here.

Leitax offers Pentax K bayonet mounts for certain Leica-R, Contax C/Y and Olympus-OM lenses.

The difference in the sound is stark, STM lenses are dead quiet, ghost-quiet, no sound at all while operation, while USM lenses Roar in pride! The speed in stills AF the USM motor is stronger and makes powerful pushes, gets fast AF. While STM motors are physically weaker in built, and acquire final stills AF slower, all things being equal.

There's something worthy of notion: there are no STM lenses for the 1DXII, (all of them are APS-C/S35 - so won't cover the 1.3x in most cases)

Except for the Canon EF 24-105mm STM IS, a variable aperture lens (not the f/4 L). (Which does send a message that Canon will release later STM FF lens)

However using the USM and all Canon lenses DPAF works 100% smoothly. Just any on-camera microphone will pick-up sound, real good ugly roaring sound...

    Canon's 40mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.8 cover full-frame, and are STM lenses.

  3. The DXmk2 is a dream camera for a breaking news videojournalist like me. Weather sealed and robust as a tank with 4K, 120fps 2K and Dual Pixel AF, it's perfect for shooting riots, sports or any action scenario where a C300mk2 would be too big and obtrusive. With custom picture profiles I don't think CLOG would be missed. But deciding not to include focus peak, when we've been using it in the 5Dmk2/3 for almost three years thanks to the Magic Lantern team, can only be described as one of the biggest GREEDY and I-don't-give-a-f*ck-about-my-customers movements in the history of the camera industry. The could make the best camera in the market for the same money, but they want you to buy 2 cameras or spend more than twice the money in a C300mk2.

I would imagine Canon will have to drop the price on C300II, which currently is more costly than more capable RED Scarlet-W package.

Started with some colour curves to balance the NX1 shot more towards blue, getting rid of the green cast. Then I just shifted the cool end of the blue spectrum further toward blue with a hue shift, and the warmer end of the green spectrum I shifted towards red with the same method. There were a few other tweaks to the saturation of different hues, but that was pretty much it. Could probably get it closer if I had access to the original files, but it's not bad.

I guess it would be possible to make a '1D C' colour profile preset that could be applied to NX1 (or any other camera) if you wanted that particular look. Will post a sony vegas preset if there's demand.

How easy/difficult would it be to correct color out of Sony A7s to match 1Dc?

  5. Canon 5DC with this image quality for 3500$ - still waiting.

Is it realistic to expect 5Dc in the Fall as rumored?

if the 1dc had an e mount and an evf it would be top of my priorities now both the price of the camera, and the media has come down drastically.  All that useless mirror space eats up valuable lens compatibility.

It would be great if Canon surprises with 5Dc as their first full-frame mirror-less.
