1. @Andrew I would like to ask about the jello effect you mentioned in the previous article before. Is it still the same issue or is there any difference ? Is there any chance to use it with steadycam or equivalent ? Thanks
2. Hey guys! I am selling my collection of old lenses cameras TLRs etc. on ebay. 3.
Someone please tell Sony to stop making 60p video mode.Only soccer moms & dads will want this. And that is their market methinks. Where's 30/24P? It's just really annoying...
I as a professional skier thank to Gods that someone like Sony has the guts to do fullHD60p not just simple 24p , we wan't at least a small slow motion and not just in HD but fullHD. 60p is enough for twixtor and it looks amaxing, you can still get your 24p love but with addition of slow motion. Even Hobbit is filmed at 48p please stop complaining about new things and simply get used to them. It's just the matter of time when the higher framerates will become a common thing. 24p is just not enough for action shots. I am very amazed how far Sony is taking their chances. I admire them for being so innovative. Like apple or Teslamotors with electric cars. Even if it's more expensive (which sony definitely IS NOT) it's worth your money.
4. The Nokton 25mm f 0,95 is 50mm equivalent on full frame, like all other lenses. It just covers the micro four thirds sensor so it would be useless on any bigger sensor like CMOS or FullFrame D800, 5D etc and bigger. It suits only the micro4/3 and smaller sensors Nikon J1,V1. However it is possible to  use it on a  bigger sensor via adapters but the lens would vignette (black cornes, circle image= the image from lens would not cover the entire sensor). Good luck with lens picking, but I feel i can give you a small adivce. At the beging try cheaper lenses this beautiful one costs aroung 900USD, but also great lenses like canon fd 50mm f1,8 or any other FD lenses or Helios m42. All these lenses offer great quality  for small price.
5.
same story as usual - aliasing, noise, low dynamic range and compression :)
@shijan @FilmMan Excuse me ? you all seems to me like some hollywood professional philmmaking crew judging 8000euro camera just like that. I guess my either must have been working with these camera for a week at last. What are you comparing the noise and aliasing with ? 5Diii I expect :D. Don't be so harsh and quick judging on something that progresive and full of inventions from Sony, who are really doing something for the normal consumer market.
6. If you're interested in buying helios58/2, industar50/3,5 or Tair 135/2,8 let me know, we can find an agreement on a reasonable price. In Moscow be careful when buying, always recount the money they give or you give them, they are champions in these tricks. Good luck. Let me know if you find something ;)
7. Finally, an article showing truth of new present canon. A corporate being which we dont like. But thats just unfortunate for those who didnt want to buy canon anyway. I just hope prices of substitues such as sony, panasonic and god forgive me but little of olympus too cameras wont rise dramatically. Live long and prosper  :)
8. what bad things I heard about 5n is the noise that some types of 5n have during the video. Google it, there are many videos, also that douchebag from digital rev tv or how is it called has done a review about that issue. Personally I have sony nex 5 and i am using canon fd and  m42 lenses. I am as happy as i can for 250 euros camera(NEW!!!!) the video is 1080 60i but it comes from 25p so you can convert it if you need but ihaven't found it neccesary. Btw there's almost no difference in gf3 and gf2, just that gf2 is cheaper. Unless you need the 1080 60p on 5n for slow motion, for sports etc. i wouldn't go for it, 5n is the best choice from these three, but it is not a gh2 or nex7, low light performence is weaker. Check on ebay for used 5n it goes for around 350 euros if you want new i deffinetely recommend just the sony nex 5. Or wait after the NAB, there is going to be new sony nex which will most likely cause the fall in the prices of sony nex 5 and 5n. you may also find that some reviews are unsatisfied with the manual control in nex 5. Well that's nonsense, you can change the main button to many options like iso and shutter, and if you use the aperture on canon fd or m42, than there is no need for any more , use the aperture priority shutter automaticaly adjust and the rest is still available through few buttons. good luck

Hi!

hey there JesseB Can you please suggest any lenses you use :)? share your ideas.
10. Waterproof and dustproof is not everything. You can buy cages for no more than 100usd. And as far as I know this EM5 is not able of 1080p 60p. the true 1080p. Maybe good for stills but for that price ? I dont know but i had olympus dlsr e420 years ago, i also used m43 olympus cameras and i doubt that EM5 is any difference. Panasonic and olympusa re using the same sensor but I would go for panasonic without hesitation.I was very dissapointed with my olympus experience. Dunno but i think the bigger the sensor is, the better the quality must be. maybe i'm worng but that's what I think so far due to my experience. please write back your experience with the em5
11. hey there First you must decide if you want a knew canon ef lens or you can satisfy with old canon fd,olympus om russian helios lenses and so on. Because as far as i know you cannot use auto focus with ef lens when shooting a video, can you ? so I think you should reconsider if you're going to spend hundreds of dollars on ef lens with auto focus for stills and not so good built quality and old but great quality lens and built quality. Have a look at this link. http://vimeo.com/25129350 helios 44 (58mm 2f) and Tair 135mm and 2,8f , great for low light and infinity focus also, which caon fd and olympus om lens cannot offer you so far when you're using a mirror camera. Mirrorless cameras have infinity focu with these but not Canon DSLR. so think about it. you can find many videos of these russian lenses  i also have these two for sale if you're interested let me know i can send you pictures. And sell you for lower price than on ebay ofcourse. best regards
12. hi weltenbummler Don't rely on auto focus lens from panasonic, in my opinion they cost too much. For what they can offer you it's not cheap at all. I would suggest go on ebay and buy adapters for old canon fd, olympus om or as also andrew mentioned russian helios, Tair, Mir, Jupiter... (i have 8 helios nad one tair 135mm 2,8f for sale, can send pictures if you want to) with m42screw.Those adapters i mentioned, doesn't cost more then 15 euros from china, plus the lens aprox. 40-70 euros maximum high quality and you can experience the beauty of manual focus and manual setting aperture. Better for low light, better for artistic videos, much better lens quality and built quality which is usually some kind of metal, maybe alluminium. Don't worry about the manual focus, you'll get used to it and you will also find it much more interesting than auto focus. links for helios http://vimeo.com/10942299 here take a closer look of what is capable this little helios 44 http://vimeo.com/25129350 both helios and Tair 135mm 2,8f http://www.ebay.de/itm/Zenit-Helios-44M-Helios-44-M-1-2-2-58mm-58-mm-M42-M-42-/380423644433?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Objektive&hash=item5893042511#ht_1962wt_1139 http://www.ebay.de/itm/Zenit-Helios-44M-6-MC-44-M-6-58mm-58-mm-1-2-M42-M-42-digital-/380418905121?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Objektive&hash=item5892bbd421#ht_1962wt_1139 http://www.ebay.de/itm/Helios-44M-4-58-mm-F-2-0-Objektiv-Adapter-Pentax-/290693516524?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Objektive&hash=item43aeaf0cec#ht_500wt_1202 another russian beauty the Tair 135mm 2,8f http://www.ebay.de/itm/TAIR-11A-2-8-135-Russian-Tele-lens-M42-SLR-Cameras-NIKON-F-D90-D7000-Canon-EXC-/260997502486?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item3cc4a9d616#ht_2242wt_1185 here's my mail if you're interested lachim.sojdag@gmail.com
