khobar95
Hi folks, I'm new here, so apologies in advance. I have a GH1, and I want to use it as an allsky camera. I have a wide-angle lens that works really well, but I have no computer control over it. I've used it with a simple timer/shutter device, but I'd really like to connect it to a Raspberry Pi. I understand this is possible via a hacked firmware, but this camera is so old that I can't find anything beyond Ptool. So, is there a source for the relevant firmware that would enable full USB control? Cheers!

khobar95
Wow - that looks very interesting! Thank you. I am looking specifically for GH1. As I understand it, the USB functions are crippled in firmware but can be unlocked with a firmware hack (for versions less than 1.34 IIRC) via Ptool. I downloaded Ptool a couple of days ago, but now I need the firmware? I'll have to refresh my memory - I might be overthinking things. :)

Administrators Andrew - EOSHD Posted March 30 Administrators Share Posted March 30 Did PTools ever get a ROM address probe feature like Magic Lantern? This could be very useful in this day and age for a new adventure...
astralis
genuinely someone should just create an archive database for the old panasonic hardware firmware hacks
