Guest Ebrahim Saadawi Posted January 14, 2014 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Is there any reasons I shouldn't use 360 degree shutter angle instead of 180 degree (1/24 vs. 1/48) to gain a stop of light? For many years I have followed the 180 degree rule but this just came to my mind, and a full stop of light is a huge advantage! I am aware that the reason is to do with the amount of motion blur I get in each frame, so my question really is not what's the reason, it's what is the difference in motion blur between 360 & 180 shutter. Is the difference big enough to make us not use 360? Are there any visual comparisons out there I can check? As professionals and experts in the field, I'd like to know your take on this and whether you advice against it or not. Thanks in advance for your help.
