  1. Andrew - This had happened to me REPEATEDLY when selling high value items on ebay. I sell perfectly functioning items with no issues but the flake who buys them changes his mind or doesn't know how to operate the gear and suddenly individual sellers are expectected to act like Amazon or BestBuy and take things back no-questions-asked.... even when you explicitly state NO RETURNS. Ebay had gotten to the point of being unusable. The quality of buyers has gotten terrible. People bid and then retrack or buy and then try it out and send it back. I sold my last camera item a couple weeks ago and will no longer use them in the future. The fees keep increasing and the experience and service gets worse. They seem to forget it's the SELLERS who pay the fees that makes them their money. But they bend over backwards to appease the buyers even when it's blatantly obvious it's fraud or ignorance on the buyers' part. Incredible! Here's my advice to you and others, Andrew: DO NOT LET UP. Keep hounding the Resolution Department. Remind them they YOU the seller pays their fees, not the buyer. Provide as much proof/photos/receipts/etc as possible to back up your claims. And insist that they make you "whole" the way they have done for the buyer. In every case that I was forced to take a loss (and in some cases I NEVER got the item returned!) ebay EVENTUALLY refunded my money as well as the buyer's. So they lost money but they're SO politically correct and worried about offending someone if they make the CORRECT JUDGEMENT in a case that they would rather take the loss than be accused of siding with one or the other in a dispute. Stick with it, TYPE IN ALL CAPITALS IF NECESSARY and they will at some point most likely give you a full refund. It's a horrible business model but with so many dishonest people and flakes using ebay now I guess they have no choice. Instead of forcing honestly on the public they'll just keep raising user fees and the sellers will in effect cover ebay's ass.
  2. No, but I believe you just did. My "rant" was about common sense and supposed "tolerance" except when the tolerant people are intolerant. It's okay to be different unless the mob doesn't agree and then you're bullied into fitting in. Kind of like your response to try to make me feel bad instead of engaging in a logical, mature conversation.
  3. Andrew, you're a smart guy. So I guess you're just pretending not to know the real reason. Welcome to the WOKE SOCIETY. No one is allowed to be different anymore. Free speech? Not any more! Still believe in biology? You MUST be canceled, then. We've come full circle and Galileo is to be locked up in the tower again for daring to be a rebel....a CORRECT rebel at that. So even though the FP and FP-L are in fact amazing cameras we live in a world of little snowflalkes.... but snowflakes that must ALL BE ALIKE.... even though everyone knows no two are alike. Boys can be girls, girls can be boys, but don't you dare praise a camera for being unique. It's the UNwoke camera. Welcome to Alice in Wonderland where things are backwards and upside-down and common sense makes no sense to so many. I ran out and purchased an FP months ago in large part due to your excellent review and praise and it's one of the coolest little cameras I've ever owned. It can be a stripped-down convertible or a laced-up high performance racer depending on how I kit it out. Appreciate your defense of the little guy but they will never "get" it. "They weren't listening then, they're not listening now. Perhaps they never will." - Don McLean
  4. Wish this EVF would fit on the FP but I don't see how it could. The FP has a raised "curb" in the body in between the USB and two pins area. The new EVF has a solid bar along this axis. It would need a slot or cut-out in between in order for it to dock completely with the FP. I don't think we've seen any pix of the new FP-L side ports, but I suspect it will NOT have that divider molded into the camera's skin allowing that hole vertical bar to fit. I might be selling an unused FP because this is an accessory I'd really like to have.
  5. Welcome to the world of woke cancel culture. You can't take risks anymore. Can't offend people. Can't say un-PC things. It already destroyed comedy, especially stand-up acts. Used to be college campuses were where this thrived. Now it's shunned. Maybe we'll be able to laugh at ourselves again in another 50 years.
  6. Whether you like this camera or not, or will buy one or not ... you still have to appreciate that for $2000 it blows away an $8000 Leica M. No, it’s not built like a tank and doesn’t have that “jewel” elegance. But for those wanting a rangefinder-ish experience and a relatively inexpensive camera they can always have with them, it’s still a pretty cool camera. It won’t replace my other a7’s but I’ll probably get one. Life is too short to bitch about everything. Have some fun once in a while. If it’s such an awful camera like many are implying then it’s not going to put Fuji or Panasonic out of business, is it?
  7. Instead of using a normal welding machine to build that ride, I hear the guy in the video was actually using a Canon R5 to melt the metal parts. Just a rumor. : )
  8. Be safe and do NOT pawn your GFX! So what is the cactus used for? Scrubbing the lens clean?
  9. Always appreciate your in-depth and informative reviews. Thanks once again.
  10. Unless you're an American citizen why don't you STFU. We come here for your video expertise, which is significant, not your political opinion, which is suspect. Everyone knows Trump didn't open that factory, that it has been making the previous generation Mac Pros for years now. He DID, however, convince Tim Cook to bring production BACK to Austiin, Texas after previously stating that the new Mac Pro would be made in China. So in a sense he did kind of open that factory again. Those of us who are logical and unbiased knew what he was implying. Get over it and stick with cameras, please. Otherwise you look like a fool, Andrew.
