Hi All: I need to amend my initial comments. The above represent .h265 10 bit 420. Compressor does not properly transcode this to Prores 422 and imparts a significant shift in the histogram. On the other had, Compressor does properly transcode to Prores 422 files that are h264 8 bit 420. Sorry for any confusion. Don Barar

Hi All: I am having an issue when using Apple's Compressor version 4.4.6 and transcoding .h264,UHD, fLog from an X-T3 to Prores 422. It appears as through the transcoding process that compressor is changing the brightness values of the transcoded file. Please see attached. Top image is the neat file from the X-T3. Middle image is the Prores 422 transcoded file with Video Pass Through (VPT) left unchecked. This is the way I normally transcode. Notice how the that the histogram is shifted up significantly. The bottom image is transcoded Prores 422 with the VPT checked. While the histogram is unshifted, unfortunately the file ends up not being transcoded Prores 422. Does anyone have thoughts on what might be occurring? Thank you in advance for your help. Don Barar

This statement is incorrect. Each state has an a number of electors equal to the number of members of the House of Representatives plus 2--the 2 represents the number of Senators. If a presidential candidate wins the state then he is awarded that states electors. It's that simple! The states cannot allocate electors in any way other than how it is specified in the Constitution. And Constitution says winner take all. There have been occasions where an elector has not voted as was required by law. But these cases are few and far between and have never changed the outcome of an election. There also have been some states that are attempting to allocate electors based on popular vote. But this is not constitutional and will not be allowed by the US Supreme Court. The only way this can be changed is if there is a constitutional convention. A constitutional convention can only be called by 1) two thirds majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representative or 2) two thirds of the states. Not gonna happen. Why? Because the small states, which make up the bulk of the US states, are never going to give up their power in electing a president These are first principles of constitutional law in the United States. This first principle is no different than any other first principle. Think of it in terms of sensor technology: given the same technology small pixels are inherently nosier than large pixels. During the Constitutional Convention of 1787 one of the biggest hurdles to overcome was that the small states were concerned about being dominated by the large states. To get agreement amongst the 13 states they agreed to the following: Bicarmal legislature with the lower house (House of Representatives) to be proportional to the population and an upper house (Senate) where each state would have two senators. That the President would be determined by the majority of electors. With each state having a number of electors equal to the number of members in the House of Representatives plus two Senators. You made the statement that our "electoral college systems was put in place by aristocratic southern slave owners". But who were the large states of the day: New York(non-slave), Pennsylvania(non-slave), Massachusetts (non-slave), Virginia(slave), and North Carolina(slave). And the small states were: New Jersey (non-slave), Connecticut (non-slave), Rhode Island (non-slave), Vermont (non-slave), and Maine (non-slave). As you can see, it was the small, non-slave states that wanted what has become known as the Connecticut or the Great Compromise not the "aristocratic southern slaveholders" as you asserted. Good for DJI releasing an update for the Ronin S to allow video start/stop via USB. But there is an issue of autofocus no longer working. Not certain if this is an XT-3 or Ronin S firmware problem. Has anyone attempted use of the X-T3 with the Ronin S with the new firmware? Don Barar

Answers to your questions There is about 2/3 - 1 stop improvement in dynamic range with HLG over Flog. I am unable to tell if there is a difference in highlight rolloff. Difference in noise? I usually shoot at isos above base. So I am unable to comment if there is a difference in noise. One other thing about shooting HLG on the X-T3. I am less prone to getting some unusual magenta casts in highlights with HLG. The disadvantage of HLG is that you must record H265 and one has to transcode the footage to improve editability. Hi AL: Thank your your help. It made me think more about what is going on with the Smooth Track settings and the interaction with the trigger. To solve my problem I did the following: Set up a custom profile for User 2 Smooth Track Settings Speed High Deadband low (I have mine set at 10) Sensitivity High Now when I rotate my body (and trigger not depressed) the Ronin S maintains it position relative to my body and allowing me to create my pan. HI ST: Delighted that you like the thread. So far, the the only thing I have been able to come up with is to hold down the M key to put it in the sport mode. Then, camera always points forward. Not quite sure this that use sport mode as my goal is to make relatively slow and deliberate actions. While I really do not want to do use the joystick to counter act the movement, I have given it a try. I have adjusted the pan speed down (and turned off joystick tilt), but I have been unable to come up with combination of rotation of me and and an amount of counter acting joystick that matches to give me a smooth pan. Seems like this would be very difficult to accomplish even for the most skilled operator. Anyways, other suggestions are welcome. Don

Hi AL: The pan axis is not locked. If I rotate my body 20 degrees the right, the Ronin S will completely counter act my movement and rotate 20 degrees to the left. Does this help you understand my issue? I want the Ronin S to continue to point forward so that as I change direction of my body, the direction of the camera changes as well--thereby creating the pan. Hi All: I am a new Ronin S user. I am attempting several type of shots without the use of the joystick: 1) Simple Panning and 2) Moving in/out from subject and panning at the same time. The issue is that when I rotate my body to accomplish the pan, the Ronin S counter acts my move by yawing (panning) in the opposite direction. Consequently, the action that I want which is to change the direction of the camera is defeated by equal and opposite action of the Ronin S. I have attempted various SmoothTrack settings and modified the tuning parameters to get this to stop. But nothing has worked. Does anyone have helpful suggestions for me? Sincerely, Don Barar BTW. I am able to easily accomplish these actions with my Phantom 4 Pro. When I rotate the aircraft to accomplish a panning shot, the Phantom maintains the camera pointing forward.

Hi All: I just purchased a X-T3/XF 18-55 for use strictly as a video camera. I am in the process of the learning all of the features. Based on the settings I have now (exposure set to manual (i believe this locks the f/stop of the lens and Iso set to Auto), the videos shows a tendency to adjust exposure very quickly and is very noticeable. Is their a way to force the camera to make more gradual changes in exposure? Don BTW. I am shooting interior real estate videos. Hence, light is not always optimal and may change.
