  1. I was going to wait with this post but I'm just buzzzzing from excitement. Let me introduce you to ED.GE biggest hack in Anamorphic vintage projection lenses...I guess since they were first made. . What hack / modification?? Simply...moving the focus ring from the front to back and adjusting the lens barrel length for...shorter focal range ability! That's right pps...from a regular minimum focal range (depending on model) between 2 to 4 meters, with this modification we can go as short as 20 cm...and that changes the game! . Now, a very important part! This is a complex modification and does require some optical, mechanical and metalworking knowledge before any attempts are made. Furthermore, the lenses are very sensitive to vibrations and the modification can turn disastrous. I was thinking very hard and long if it was worth putting my Hypergonar 20th century Fox in great condition... through this process. But hey...no guts...no glory!! . This is the first and only vintage projection lens in the world with such modification...guaranteed!! . Image and its featured product/s is/are intellectual property of Eduard Gelo. 2. Right...after long, exhausting and unsuccessful search about Hypergonar HI-FI 2 disassembly on the net, I finally took this matter to my own hands. I'm thinking...if it was put together, there must be a way to take it apart. This lens is not just one of the best vintage anamorphic projection lenses out there also very well assembled. So here it goes: Step 1: Place the lens standing up with the front glass facing up. Step 2: Locate 3 mini grab screws on the top ring. They are very tiny! Unscrew with a mini flat screwdriver. Make sure your hands are steady and screwdriver does not slip possibly damaging lens or you loosing the screws. You will need them. Once again. They are 1 mm X 1 mm! Step 3: The top ring is screwed on the barrel and the only way lens comes apart if it is unscrewed. This can pose a bit of a challenge as it is screwed tight. Place a tiny screwdriver into one of the holes from mini grab screws an pull counter clockwise while holding the main lens barrel. Step 4: After unscrewing the top ring you will be able to unscrew the top / focusing barrel / ring. Hold the main barrel and unscrew the focusing ring / counter clockwise. Step 5: Be careful here! Hold the glass casing by the edges and pull it out of the main shaft / barrel. Pay attention: The casing has a groove which corresponds with recess on inside barrel. I'm not joking when I say be careful. The glass casing is very well greased up. If not careful this disassembly could turn disastrous..and grease can get on optics! Take your time. Step 6: Work back from Step 5 to Step 1.
  3. Have a tiny fungal speck I need to clean on the inside of the cylindrical element but I have hard time taking the lens apart. I have disassembled different other models apart...with no problems but this one seem to be a bit stubborn. Can anyone provide me with a detailed disassembly instructions either by text or video tutorial? I have looked on the net, can't seem to find anything. Greatly appreciated.
  4. Does anyone know all 3 outside diameters of the lens barrel? Large / main one, mid section and rear diameter. Please let me know...if you know. Thank you.

  6. Modified Lomo 35 NAP 3M with custom D.O.F adapter / f 1.2 lens and 4k Panasonic digital camera. This pic shows a plain set up. Usually 7 inch monitor and follow focus attached. More of my rig examples on Anamorphic bespoke rigs / set ups
  7. You don't have to spend too much money for a decent set up. I have designed several practical rigs for different cameras and anamorphic lenses ( Lomo, modified Lomo, Meopta Anagon, Rathenhower). Please check Anamorphic rig examples for some ideas. If you want one of a kind set up let me know.
  8. Hi guys, can you please recommend "proven / best and the safest" homemade cleaning solution for hazey lenses. I have come accross number of methods online but still unsure. Thank you

  10. Hi guys, looking for rear / back optical element for Lomo 35 Nap Anamorphic projector lens in good condition. Please let me know if you have one for sale or where I can buy one. Thank you
  11. I thought I put my mechanical and design skills into action after seeing numerous diy anamorphic rigs / set up /projects. I started designing systems with various options and adapters for good old Soviet Lomo Nap 35 anamorphic projector attachment. If you have one of this lenses and wanting to put it together with your camera, or build one of the kind system...let me know.
