I think the technology in phones is great. I used an Oppo for a couple of months before 4K became available in the GH4 and the same seems to be happening again with 8K. Obviously only good for certain conditions.
I usually have my little Fuji XE camera for street. But have been happy with the Adonit PhotoGrip for any phone or the Bitplay Snap line for iPhones. Last one I had was great with a rubber thumb rest, decent grip and mechanical shutter button. The Adonit and others use Bluetooth for their shutter= slight lag. Great alternative to a GR for probably something like £40.
I wish more phone manufacturers would persist at combining camera ergonomics. Sony have a shutter button in a good place, but even a tiny grip makes a massive difference imo. They all seem to have tried and failed.
Just had a quick look and China have ripped off the Adonit style, which was already good value, with the one below. Delivery from China is taking forever at the moment but will get one if well reviewed as it's soon rainy season and flagship phones can be used in very heavy tropical rain, unlike my camera.
I have that with me 😛 (Lumia 1020)
And here it is the full size of the Magic Sydney shoot...

Wish I could find a ACES transform for this camera. Some V-LOG shots manually graded. Lens was the Panasonic 24-105 F4
Also if anyone wants to know the H&Y Variable MRC HD ND+CPL Filter is what I used for these. It's excellent and color neutral, if a bit fiddly to use.
I REALLY hope Panasonic steps up their AF game next time around. It is what is stopping me to buy blinded eyes the S1R... it is enough some small wind to trash a shoot and we know... you haven't a second play.

It is lovable, congrats! The artefacts on the back I guess are the limitation of the phone you used. The phone on foreground is simply beautiful.

Hello, it is a JPEG and yes shooted in HDR enabled with a zoom factor of 3x (I was very far as you can realize}. Lot of noise, right, but I guess not easy photo for any unit.

I have to try it with my P40Pro or Mate 30 Pro 5G... before I had the X50Pro with the Gimbal argh..... it was good to use that app with it.

Hello dears,
please look at here for an article related the teardown of the R5: https://petapixel.com/2020/08/11/teardown-of-the-canon-eos-r5-reveals-odd-thermal-design-raises-concerns/
Here the link for the direct video: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Uv411q7CA?zw
Thanks Andrew! 😛

I am unable to update the link for the video, kindly use this: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1Uv411q7CA?zw
This is interesting: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=624303698649
but it invalidates the warranty of course...

It looks like the iPad can handle it (LOL)...

I am interested to the black and white shooting where, as far as I seen, the Sigma Quattro (H), is really a deal breaker: someone can tell me how the S1(R) is working on that scenarios?
Thanks,

There's some truth to Canon's ability to produce a more pleasing look right out of camera but both cameras can certainly be adjusted to match. I have used Andrew's Pro Color adjustments in the A7III to produce "Canon Color" directly out of the camera by tweaking settings in-camera. That is one feature of Sony cameras that are often overlooked. You can tweak profiles to the nth degree. In current Sony mirrorless cameras however you can only do so much tweaking due to dynamic range limitations and 8-bit codecs.
Where the differences typically exist between these consumer cameras and production cinema cameras boils down to dynamic range and how many stops of light you have available in the highlights and shadows.
I am quite confident that the new A7SIII can be tweaked in-camera to produce many different "looks" straight out of camera and with better dynamic range and a 10-bit codec.
I really love the colors of the R5.

After Garmin.... Canon but it was very silent news...

I don't if already posted (I browsed last pages without find it... but) amazing video and great conclusion:

I guess it is definitively a different "language"... the problem is that language is replacing also the "others" (e.g. the compact) instead to be another "level".

Hello,
I know it is an hot topic but... I would just have your about as it is one of the killer point of the "camera market". Yesterday I had time to walk around Sydney and I did various shoots with my P40 Pro. I would start that thread pointing you out the result of the 50mpx AI Clarity Mode of that phone, totally amazing. The phone is untouched.
I uploaded it here too: https://ibb.co/bP0fkCL
Totally crazy!
