If you want to see what the NX1 produces in daylight with the tiny (but good) 16-50mm PZ lens, edited natively in H265 with no grading and standard settings, here is an example:

Thanks for that video markr041, looks sharp and color is nice. How is moire and aliasing with the nx500? According to your shoots it handles it quite well i guess. Thinking of upgrading my Nex-5R (everything shot in the city kind of looks like ps2 video game thanks to moire and aliasing) But I also like to keep the cam as small as possible. I am lazy and often would not bring something like the NX1 outside cause its too big.
I think in 4K (the only mode I shoot in), moire and aliasing are minimal. This is indeed a plus for the camera.

Testing the NX500, with kit lens.

I think, to the contrary, that the Nx1 clips are sharper but we don't know if the two camera have the same base sharpening at default settings.
I agree. Both were at default settings, but I suspect the sharpening in the NX500 is less.

A comparison of the 4K video from the NX500 and NX1. Shot side by side to get the same approximate pov, both lenses set so the ISO was 800 and at the same f-stop. Both used the same model lens (NX 16-50mm PZ). The NX1 was closer in to mimic the crop factor of the NX500. Shutter priority mode at 1/60th for both. Standard color. AWB. SAF.

A 4K test with the 50-150mm S : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxVvDZILEHE
Even if the youtube compression doesn't help, I find the quality is not that good.Edit : link updated
Seriously, you can tell video quality from this? So far, all the video clips from this NX500 posted that I have found (and I have looked), including those from reviewers, are based on somebody waving around the camera shooting literally aimlessly, often in poorly-lit settings. Le's wait for a video from someone who actually knows how to shoot video, or at least knows to hold the camera steady.

is there a 30 minutes limit for video recording as on the nx1 ?
Sorry, there is a 15 minute limit for 4K, UHD (same as LX100).
Possibly giving up my Sony a7s for Samsung NX1

Yes, version 13 edits H265 natively. It works fast, but in default tends to crush blacks (a look I mind less than others).
