  1. Read the specs yourself BMD mini monitor supports HD 10 bit colour but only rec709 So hows that magically going to become HDR when you connect to an HDR display? I have seen your youtube no doubt you can connect a screen to that adapter but how are you going to tell the screen to display HDR? Are you sending some metadata or what?
  2. That won’t work the only device supporting HDR screens is the Ultrastudio 4K extreme 3 and it only supports HDMI 2.0a so HLG won’t be supported Anyway
  3. as of today Mac computers only output HDMI 1.4b and therefore no HDR of any sort looks possible in the final cut manual mentions specialised output devices
  4. My tv is UHD premium certified nits black 0 max 750 Lcd that are brighter have 1000 nits peak so even small ninja works however not sure how practical is to work on 5 or 7”
  5. Ops sorry I was confused by the REC709 calibration So the new Ninja V is the most economic HDR monitor on the market albeit 5"
  6. Hi guys am new to the GH5 and I am planning to use it underwater HLG was one of the reasons to buy this camera as I have an HDR compatible tv however I have a problem with the camera as the display is not HDR and from what I see the same is true for Atomos Shogun the display is only REC709. The camera has two HLG View assist options and I have not played with it to see what gives better results however I have also worked out that my iMac and almost no computer supports HLG On final cut pro X I found that the option 'Show HDR as Raw values' in playback settings helps a lot and you need to revert to using REC709 and scopes or exposures to see what you are doing (this is to address jonpais post) So my point is considering none of the external recorders nor the camera screen display is HLG how am I suppose to expose correctly? I have heard about setting zebra at 90% but it seems the camera can do more so I am thinking of moving to 95 % as with HLG you can't exceed or dropping the zebra altogether
  7. autofocus is a real problem with this camera the focus moves very slow and after all of that is also blurred
  8. XAVCS is called like that because it is a non compliant mp4. Mp4 requires AAC audio or PCM instead the Sony XAVCS have a WAV audio that makes them uncompliant. Quicktime won't play it but VLC will
  9. I got the mark III camera yesterday. I did some side by side comparison for the steady shot and the video quality with the mark II It looks like the Mark III is actually worse it lacks detail even with the XAVC codec, the autofocus is slower and only the intelligent steady shot is an improvement but not life changing I am sending it back now and am really annoyed seems like one of those case of upgrade where old feature are made look bad to show the new feature better? Weird
