  1. This worries me, Im the proud owner of the A7S and Im very happy with it, however, I was really hoping to see some firmware updates in the future that fix the most stupid things like no programmable shortcut for aps-c or direct link to framerate settings. Simple things like that make the camera a joy to use and should be addressed if you want your customers to be happy.
  2. Bought it recently and have used it at one wedding. Quality is fantastic, although the cam has a slight learning curve (especcially s-log and the other color profiles are a bit complicated and need testing and fiddling to get it right). The handling is ok, but the weird placement of the record button bothered me more that I thought beforehand. I agree with you 100% on the shortcomings as well, so weird that you cant map aps-c mode for example. A simple firmware upgrade would improve this lovely camera so much, its ridicilous. Lets just hope Sony reads your review as well.
  3. You week to be forgetting something from canon, namely magic lantern! Eh..... Wait
  4. Amazing stuff, I love my old t2i as well. Have been shooting wedding films with it until very recently. This wedding film is 100% with the t2i. Im not as talented as the guy above :), but I think it still holds up pretty well...
  5. Nice, my favo dutch surfspot :). I liked the slomo shots on the beach. How did you get the camera, is it already up for purchase?
  6. Made this quick and dirty vid the other day to try RAW out, and I discovered that with grading there was a very fine raster visible when I started to grade it with film convert. I have it here: But due to vimeo encoding its now very muddy and you hardly see it anymore. Maybe a little bit in the first and third shot if you look at the sky on the right side of the image. Any ideas what it is? Also, do you guys have tips for a good and fast RAW workflow. I tried making a rough cut in da vinci and than exporting an xml to either premiere cc or FCP X, but in both cases it doesn't work (with FCP X it said resolution is not support, I shot 1920 by 8something, widescreen). And finally, whats the best format to give to vimeo, I now always use a high bitrate h264 version, but I feel I lose more sharpness than other vids I see.
