Sony ALWAYS does bullshit like this. They are very anti customer. They always have to lure you in but them limit some key feature for no apparent reason besides greed.

you are confusing canon with sony, sony releases 500$ cameras with 60p30p24p, zebras and a ton of other video features while your cheap canon rebel and even the 70D are limited to 30p/24p and lacking in video features.

STOP IT!!!   Andrew i enjoy coming to this site and find it very informative at times,   but  to say that the d800 with 50mbit or even external video is close to Magic Lantern RAW on mark 2 or 3 is absolutely absurd,  stop it.

 

There is no way that an 8bit camera especially the nikon d800 cabale of producing anything close to raw 14 bit footage,  yes under good lighting conditions the d800 produces a decent image but decent at best.

When did I specifically pointed out your "positive evaluation" as "hype"? theres a lot of press about this camera out there and thats what i mean by "hype" not your comments. As you pointed out, most of your readers here are usually lower budget, therefore I made what you called "warnings". I said this because some of us can't afford to be switching lenses and bodies all the time, because we usually lose money, time, and energy doing swaps. So we need to be more careful when we make our choices. I also, still don't understand why you are being kind harsh towards me specially since I've apologize to you.. is not ok to express my opinion here? I don't meant to offend anyone really, specially you.

I don't like that A mount on the Sony. Why no E mount? What's the "adaptabilty" on the Alphas? I remember I bought an MD lens that came with an MD to A adapter and it had a lens for infinity focus... :S

Lol.. why buy an MD when you have a full range of cheap old minolta lenses with autofocus that work perfectly on the A mount.

They designed a recorder for the a7s wich can do 1080p 120fps, but the camera can't hold up with the speed/size? Then what's the reason to develope it, when you can't use it?

What you mean it records 1280X720 at 120 fps with or without recorder.

Price confirmed  $1699.99 body. Really competitive price for a full frame.

looks like an interesting camera, iso up to 460.000 :O, FF no line skipping, no binding probably a dynamic range beast too, would be happier if you could record 4k internally. 

Looking good, wish it had 4k without the external recorder, but rigged this will be a beast in dynamic range and low light with 409.060 iso

another pro that the @admin seems to have missed is the option to choose the autofocus transition speed, you can make the af transitions slow like the canon 70d, or really fast and snappy for sports.  It´s a really good feature to have in video.

The reason why they use AVCHD and not AVC H.264 is because they have to pay royalties to use that format.

It´s also worth mentioning that the the A6000 has selective focus speed for smooth video transitions and have steadyshot option for non stabilized lens.

In the article you mention that the Sony’s A5000 is  a replacement for the Sony NEX 5N, thats incorrect, it does replace the NEX3.
