I can confirm SIGMA 35mm 1.4 is very nice, although I had backfocus problems from the start. Thanks god for micro adjustment on 5dmk3 which solved the problem. Isn't rokinon 24mm the same as samyang 24mm which has a lot of distortion according to Andrew? edit: ahhh, Andrew was talking about 14mm. What about distortion in 24mm version? Is it better?

While I agree Hasselblad is a joke with those sony's cameras I don't agree about MD being dead. In terms of Image quality FF can't touch it.

What about if you prove to yourself you can make shtty movie that earns millions and then do your creative niche movie that makes you even more millions? Top of the line is E7 Xeons processors family. Apple is gonna use E5 in the future so they will never be top of the line ;). So at the time of the launch the strongest single 6 core CPU offered by mac was W6380 (3.33GHz) according to wikipedia. At the time of the launch it cost 1100USD (then price fell to around 600 today - http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+W3680+%40+3.33GHz&id=1274 ). What was the price of the MAC PRO with this CPU? Around 1100USD? I doubt that. 1500USD? Please send me some links now to back up your talk. Instead of talking without any reliable data next time you post something I'd like to see links that back up your talk. Inconvenient truth about apple is that apple is ripping you off (Price of CPU falls by 50% and u still pay the same price - amazing!). Sorry I'm not going to spend time discussing about crippleware just because you say they don't. I've already spent time looking for historical data about XEONs just because you simply wrote one liner about how apple buys millions of CPUs so they get XEONS almost "for free" without any data confirming it. This is the only sentence I agree with :D ;). No point derailing the thread though so I'll stop here. Anyway, I think it will be shorterm hype (if at all) just because it will probably be overpriced. Competition will catch up very fast and make it cheaper and better.

As with all apple products: nice design. Knowing the history of apple I wouldn't be getting excited until they release it. Their marketing has always been top notch.. and their products overpriced and crippled in some way. Maybe they've changed, who knows (not likely though ;)).

tbh, I don't get why everybody gets so excited about it. If any of us had this camera we'd make video similar to this one cause there is nothing complicated in it. Very basic stuff. It's cool cause most ppl don't own these slow mo cameras, that's it.
