Chinese netizens have a proverb saying: don't squeeze the whole toothpaste at once. A product that satisfy everyone might become a disaster for the company. Cause nobody will upgrade to Version 2.0. So they never define a line in their design goals to satisfy everyone. Every iteration keeps some pain points to reserve room for improvement in those specific areas in the next generations. Cripple Hammer is not a broad crippling with a rough hammer. Its a surgery precision cuts with at least three gen ahead in mind. Of course there is always a risk of bleeding. But the risk of not having a plan is greater. RED and Arri didn't have such a plan, and ended up searching for a buyer who has.

RED's bullshitting about DR infiltrated Nikon. No way this chart translates to reality. Gerald's imatest result and CVP's latitude test shows the useable DR is way less than this
-
ZR's DR is worst among these four. IBIS in the middle, color arguably the best, AF with native lens is good enough, and okeyish with adapter.

I managed to see the whole video. He was saying colors looks like RED colors, but R3D fidelity is not there. Of course because its 12bit and not 16bit. Also the image is as noisy as Z6iii. He loves the large screen tho.
-
So according to the youube review: no full size HDMI. No DR boost like S1ii, and the R3D codec is 12bit, not supported by Davinci yet.
-
I wonder what was the purpose behind developing this new sensor. Its not exceptionally fast, doesn't have new DR tech. Just to increase a bit of resolution and keep the 40fps burst of R6ii to put in R6iii?
-
I'm still skeptical about this one. Both RED recording and NRAW mentioned in the new rumor. Why should they give both internally? Maybe something lost in translation again.
-
Nikon defines pro/prosumer/consumer segments by sensor tech and range of physical controls. Maybe they don't see Z6III sensor belonging to pro segment.
-
Kasey will make a full video about the cripple hammer on 30fps oversampled 4k limit.
-
Nikon's own NRAW supports up to 20:1 compression ratio. But its very unlikely they do that. Its a h.265 All-I camera.
-
No, there is no air vent. As I said before its Nikon's ZV-E1, not FX3.

If it can do 60fps at 16:9, max burst should have been higher than 40fps. I guess video is 12bit read out.

For a fraction of a happy second I thought thats SDI. Nope, we're not there yet.

PhotoRumors says its a new Lumix. And he's right. They guy was intentionally not good at blurring photos. So it wasn't ZR. S7 with S1ii sensor maybe? Ironically SD/microSD configuration makes more sense for this camera.
-
But they need to have a low end body after all. I'm pretty sure ZV-E1 sells more than FX3.
-
RED raw was never in the rumored specs. It was "RED tech", whatever it means.
-
No, but Canon isn't competing with itself.

Remember Nikon 1 system? That was also crippled by microSD. Its a Nikon tradition.
