  1. Its old school Japanese parentalism. But I think his assumption of line skipping and then NR is not accurate. Some kind of pixel binning is happening. Its not easy to downscaling 6k to 4k as half of 6k is only 3k، so conventional line skipping doesn't work in this case.
  2. 4k raw wouldn't need line skipping and pixel binning and so much compression that look inferior to heavily compressed h.265 if SD Express wasn't such a flop of a standard.
  3. I don't know it's educational system issue or purely political issue, but it should be clear for anyone with IQ above the "retarded" territory that the whole purpose of the trade, (even since thousands of years ago), is provide the best goods available in the world at cheapest possible price for "our" people. So even from a nationalist point of view, if my people get the best goods very cheap, my country wins. With tariffs, my fellow citizens get worse goods (because of less competition) at higher prices! Its completely opposite of the purpose of the trade. We're living in a timeline that Christians support billionaires who publicly despise the poor, and nationalists support the losing position for the nation.
  4. I thought the reason there is that exemption was that there wasn't the logistics to inspect every box, which I heard millions of them are coming to the US every year. So what's their plan for that logistical issue?
  5. Once you have access to the RAW data, you should be able to make any magic sauce you want with that. If you can't, its your fault. In still photography world it was a known fact, untill fuji marketing team pretended its a revolution if its done in camera.
  6. That would be "Krasnov" 🙂
  7. But it would be a bold move in Trump era to have a heroine named James.
  8. Some youtubers complained about its build quality. Early reviewers don't talk too much about these things anymore.
  9. https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/RN_e.htm After you selected the camera, click on the name above the chart, it opens the table As you see in R5m2 all points are triangles, meaning noise reduction on RAW at all ISO settings.
  10. If the sensor is non stacked BSI, read noise should be lower. A7Rm5 read noise at base ISO is just 3.4e. So despite higher resolution (smaller pixels), has almost half stop better DR.
  11. Almost no DR advantage for being non stacked! I don't know it shows Panasonic got it wrong, or Nikon did a great job with its stacked design
  12. Overal average shipped value is a lot lower But that's because of all apsc bodies out there. At $800 their profit margin is very thin. So they have to double it at least. That's why the $1500-2500 area is so crowded with options.
  13. So it wasn't Dji making a L mount camera after all?
  14. I think it looks chonky because its a power zoom APSC lens.
  15. They could make the lens faster without making the body bigger. I'd like to have a soft corner f/2.8 that jumps in sharpness at f/4, than having no f/2.8 at all.
  16. NR is not an issue. It's a strategy to satisfy that part of the market that is obsessed with noise, with the price of making others who prefer data integrity angry; and apparently that sounds reasonable compromise for some camera companies. However, I don't know what's going on with DPR's studio shot that even at base ISO, there is noticeable difference in resolution (not sharpness) compared to similar sensors:
  17. Panasonic uses NR on still RAW in a still oriented camera, let alone video. Reviewers bash Nikon for its h.265 implementation that doesn't allow to disable NR, but say nothing when Canon/Panasonic doesn't allow to disable it on RAW!
  18. Sony giving its most expensive sensor for half the price? I doubt that.
  19. 6k is always better than 4k. But Z6 III achilles heel is lowish DR.
  20. Apparently they're working on it, with Z6iii senaor tho https://nikonrumors.com/2025/03/13/new-nikon-z-video-oriented-camera-rumored-to-be-announced-later-this-year-similar-to-the-sony-fx3.aspx/
  21. There is also this short film festival: https://www.festivalnikon.fr/en Many of submitted works are very creative. Edit is professional, color grading as cinematic as it gets: https://youtube.com/@nikonfilmfest So many talented people are out there, and I wonder why we don't see them in this forum? I want to hear their BTS stories.
  22. There is 5 companies that use Sony full frame sensors: Sony (both still and cinema), Nikon, Panasonic, Leica, and now Sigma. Also some variants of the sensors these companies use are available for cctv and machine vision. That volume of production lowered the price. That's not case with MF.
  23. I mean even iPhone could achieve 12 stops! with NR.
  24. Its more like an engineering horse race and some people love to bet. Of course exposure mistakes happen, but nobody should make a 5 stops mistake.
