  1. Andy The Alexa doesn't do Vista vision either.
  2. An Alexa doesn't do 35mm full frame?
  3. Andy Its not full frame its Super 35mm
  4. Shame the zip doesn't open in windows. Anything anyone can do like rezip as a download?
  5. Stab They tried to hold back technology and what happened? Loads of peripheral firms made the bits they held back So they might as well have not held back and made the money they lost to other new companies. There will for the foreseeable future be companies Because technology moves ahead and good companies stay in the zone.
  6. Yes but do the £10 adapters match the canon lenses focal marks? IE the correct distance from the flange If not is there one that does?
  7. I thought that might be the case! Thanks jcs How do you debayer pocket camera raw footage that comes in at 1080p?
  8. jcs How do you scroll through the footage All I can get is the first frame to correct?
  9. Of course the stock kit lenses are shitty. Often the kit lenses are not wide or long enough and start if your lucky at f2.8 although more likely f4. They want you to buy their line of better lenses. That's why you get all the different formats to force consumers to part with money, Whats that if it isn't conspiracy to get as much money out of the consumer as possible.
  10. But honestly you get what you pay for.   Really? I think you get what a seller can get away with. Stock lenses are known to be shitty.
  11. Saw a 4k TV in action today and now I'm sold. 4k is definitely the future. I got close to the screen and almost felt I was in that world and although the world wasn't real more like being on drugs it felt awesome.   I think 4k will open the doors on new forms of media entertainment that could put you in an amazing surround game like the holodeck for education Wildlife safari. Other planets, space. In fact I believe the biggest advance to come from 4k could be how we educate our kids and ourselves in a very entertaining fun and exhilarating way to learn.   I'm just not that sure if it will be right for films. I think maybe like documentaries news and sport have always used small sensors this is where 4k will excel Film is more of an art form that doesn't rely on this much definition unless it is for gameplay.   4K and 8K are coming... Just not in the way many have portrayed it I think.
  12. Well I bet Andrews and other similar blogs have an awful lot of traffic and those people are in touch with what is going on.   I bet companies like BMD are making inroads into the big manufacturers sales and that is going to get worse for them.
  13. I would think Canon 5d3 sales would be doing well thanks to the hack Although I have to admit I couldn't take the risk but plenty are.   I would most certainly have bought a GH3 if it had 10 bit out and a Nikon d800. I would have pulled the trigger on a canon 1dc if it had been about £5000 even though it is 8 bit.   I have been prevented from buying a camera for three years because of crippling hell and waiting for BMD.   I feel the manufacturers have missed out on a golden opportunity that could have worked hand in hand with their pro divisions none more so than Canon and their 8 bit cinema line up. At least from my perspective.
  14. I think you are hoping someone here is involved professionally that can give you a hand up because they will recognise your greatness because it is you who is posting. Of course this is a forum for testing analysing and comment. How the hell could it be about making films That is something done in the physical world You don't learn to drive a car on the internet. Go find another forum and don't try to change shame this one into what your petulant behaviour wants.
  15. Andrew   Where on ebay have you seen the Canon 1dc going for under £5000?
  16.   I know Sony and the big manufacturers want us to adopt 4k so they can make more money But just because they want it doesn't mean consumers will. 4K at best is a gimic if people cant see a difference between 1080p and 4k unless they plant their face up to a 60" screen to see pixels. How will TV companies just used to getting in a few HD channels adapt to 4k when they are on a bottomless pit of never ending HD updating. How on earth will all the movies made in 2k show any improvement over HD   although I concede that technology moves on and often what seemed impossible becomes the new norm. However is this an improvement over what already exists and will it grow or be a dead duck. Maybe we will all end up with 4k TV's showing HD and 480p programs.   I'm not sure that as film makers we need to be making films in 4K when clearly films like Skyfall look great projected on a cinema screen and really do any of us want to see anymore of Daniel Craigs lines
  17. Yes but the point is it doesn't matter what you or I think of the film its what potential 1DC customers think and that's who the film was for.
  18. Yes but the point of the 1dc is you just shoot 4k and take your stills from the footage. Therefore you don't need a stills camera.   Its better just to shoot with one camera so that way you can reframe. The point is some professional still photographers are using the 1dc this way. The film was presenting an argument for it in order to sell the idea,
  19.   I think you're missing the point The film was AN AD for the 1dc and how you can take stills from the 4k footage.
  20. however ACR's de-noise and sharpen during de-Bayer works very well.   So you would denoise first in ACR then to de bayer resize the image in AE and render out to the format you want it in?
  21. JCS   I found it!   Is there a good standard setting you would recommend?
