1.   Thanks, but sadly I do not understand what you wrote... :)
2. Hi evarybody,   I have a question regarding Atomos Ninja 2 and GH3. Does one work with the other at all, and if it does, is it recording as 8bit 420 or 10bit 422? If they are not working together what other DSLR records 10bit 422 with Atomos (C100 perhaps???)?   Thanks gang...
3. Thanks Andrew... For days I m trying to decide which camera of the two to get... Mark 3 is too expensive as I m still waiting BMCC MFT mount...
4. Hi,   Which lens do you think is better for video:   Tamron 24mm f2.5 or Tokina 24mm f2.8 - they are both pentax K mount, so I believe that they work on anything from GH to 5D with the right adapter. Does anybody have any experience with these two lenses?   As always, thanks for your time and your opinion.
5.   Oh no, I liked the look of GH2, however I never worked with GH3 and heard that it has video look... much more than GH2. Not sure if it's true. Is Magic Lantern 5Dm2 image quality nearly as good as GH3?
6. It looks like my choice is narrowed down between 5Dm2 and GH3. I don't think that NEX 7 is as good as those two. I just don't know which of the two to go for. On one side I loved working with 5Dm2 - full frame is great as are the colors, they have really filmic look for me, and with Magic Lantern, quality of the picture is not terrible. On the other, I really enjoyed my GH2, so I expect even more from GH3, however it is MFT sensor as opposed to FF and I read that the picture looks to video-like and is not as filmic as 5D... Any thoughts....
7. Thanks jgharding   I m still thinking about what camera to purchase. My mind tells me to get cheap t3i and install ML, invest in some more good lenses (Samyang 35mm and maybe 24mm) and keep my money for when BMC is here or if one of the Chinese wonder KINO cinemas come out.   However my heart is telling me to try out with a bit better cameras now, as I found 5Dm2 for a very good price, and I m also curious about GH3 and Sony NEX 7...   ...decisions, decisions...
8. It's a dumb question, but I don't suppose that you could fit Voight. lens on EOS camera?
9. Very true. T3i would be just a temporary cam. BMC is nowhere in sight, KineRaw looks very interesting, but again God knows when will that cam be available too, and RED is still very expensive for me.   Sometimes I m thinking about investing in FS100 or even FS700, but than I would have to forget about RAW filming that I hoped to get from BMC.   Thanks for the suggestions..
10. Oh no, I know that voightlander is MFT, just in general as I have Nikon FD (FF) glass and a beautiful 85mm Carl Zeis which is a FF too, and I m getting Samyaong 35 EOS, again a FF. I m wondering if I could feet those on t3i (first two with some kind of adapter)?
11. Hm.. Pretty discouraging.. It's a good price for Voight. but I guess I'll wait a little to see what's happening with that MFT BMC. I have no Canon lenses. Was thinking to hit 2nd hand lens shops... Could I fit APS-C and FF canon lenses on t3i?   Now that I hear that BMC MFT is not coming any time soon, I m tempted to look more seriously into GH3. That Chinese mini KINO cam looks interesting, but God knows when will that be on sale too....
12. @ gravitatemediagroup   How much are you selling the Voigtlander for? I have been looking for some time to buy it.   BTW how does unhacked GH3 footage looks like in comparison to hacked GH2?   I m more and more considering t3i as I can get a new one for $450. That is definitely not a big dent in my budget, and hopefully that damn BMC MFT mount will come out soon.. :)
13. New GH2 are out of stock. I considered getting GH3, but need money for BMC and voigtlander lenses.   The webisodes and shorts that I have to do are not part of what I planned for BMC shooting. They have dramatic structure, so I need big sensor camera. I was thinking of what cheap cam I could get that would not hurt my budget for the BMC, new lenses for it and hopefully metabones adapter if it is ever made for MFT mount.   Two cheapest cameras are t3i, which is not that bad considering it has magic lantern, and NEX 5r, and I have no experience with NEX cameras.
14. I can't find any 2nd hand one in a good condition and priced normaly. I would still like opinion on those 4 cameras from the title. Especialy the NEX ones in comparison to t3i and GH2.   Thanks for your thoughts though.
15. Hi there good people of this forum...   I fullishly sold my beloved GH2 in hopes of buying the BMC camera. I got a work in the mean time to shoot webisodes and I need camera quickly, but don't want to spend too much money as I have very limited funds for that damn BMC whenever it comes.   I know that t3i and t4i are not amazing cameras any more, but they are dirt cheap at the moment and are good enough for the kind of work I m doing at the moment, and from the research I have done I believe that t3i is better only because MAgic Lantern is fully working on it. Am I right here?   I have been looking into Sony NEX 5r and NEX 7, but I have absolute no experience with these cameras, which one of the two is better and how do they compare with EOS t3i/t4i in image quality?   Please let me know your thoughts.   Thanks!
16. @ gravitatemediagroup   is Sigma 30mm full frame or s35 crop lens? Thanks.
17. As I m getting MFT mount, I m thinking between Samyang/Rokinon 24mm f1.4 or Voightlander 25mm f0.95. I prefer second one, but it is much more expensive. Any thoughts?
18.
get pc with mac osx cause mac IS a pc. pay 100$ to an IT guy to set it up for you and save few ks$
So would this work with laptop computers too? I simply need mobility. Thanks for the advice.
19. The point of my post, well the two points are: 1. Although I prefer MAC platforms over PC, I strongly looked into PC laptops, as I m not a fanboy, but want the best available machine to help me with my specific tasks, for the best price. Official response from DaVinci Resolve guys was not to get laptop PC, but an Apple one. 2. I m not an IT guy. I really do not have time for computer issues, outside from editing/coloring/music, etc... (well this is virtually impossible, but I want as little as possible of these "outside" problems). I simply do not have time, nor interest for this, I just need the machine to help me with creative tasks, so that I can get my paycheque and pay for my bread and roof over my head :) For now I get that with MAC, but if PC were to prove better, I would gladly go back with Windows.
20. Thanks for the review Andrew. I hope I will get mu MFT mount soon. On the MAC vs PC discussion. I agree with Andrew... Once you go MAC, you just can't go back. :) I have been using PC's all my life. tried MAC, but was never confortable with it. However in 2008, an editor friend of mine made me get my first macbook pro and I fell in love with it. No more driver issues, no more wizards (I hated those), no more crushes, and miracle blue screens (to this day that 2008 MBP never crushed on me), loved OS X, loved editing, coloring, and generally doing everything on it. However lately I have been looking into PC alternative again, due to MAC's being so expensive, and with limited specifications. My problem is that I need mobility, so I have to limit my computer search only to laptops. MBPretina look amazing, but their price is amazing too. For the price of top end MBPretina I found amazing PCs - complete beasts. Now for the interesting turn of events, I contacted Peter Chambrlain from DaVinci Resolve, to see what computer with what specification would work best for Resolve, and he told me that regarding Resolve, he only advices MBPretina laptops, no PC laptops, regardless of the monster specifications! I don't understand why, I have never been IT guy. That's probably why I love my MACs so much, I don't have to think that much about things outside my editing/coloring, etc, as much as when you use PC. Sorry for the long post...
21. @ galenb Wow, I appreciate your post very much. I m afarid to bulid my own hackintosh as I didn't use PCs in about 5 years (since I discovered MACs). I m still pretty much a novice with RAW editing and the BMC workflows. I m used to edit 1080p AVCHD files with FCP 7, and I want to move top premiere pro CS6 and to learn to colour with resolve.. So this all is pretty new to me. As I m waiting for the BMC camera I would love to used it's full potential the 2.5K (only for fictional films that I m hoping for possible limited cinema releases - for the rest I would be happy to use pro res). For these fictional projects I do not need quick turnaround, so I don't mind waiting for longer rendering or if it is not exactly real time editing/colouring as long as it works. So it is possible to downgrade 2.5K to smaller files, do an offline edit, and colouring and than export it back to it's original resolution? I m sorry for these novice questions, but I m still learning.
22. Hm.. Thanks. I have no idea how to make one. Do they really work for such a complex operation?
